As Dr. Newbrough progressed through medical school and made his way into his residency, it was there that he learned what he wanted to focus his career on. “While in general surgery residency, I had the opportunity to work with plastic surgeons. I immediately was drawn to the seemingly miraculous ability those surgeons had to repair wounds, restore function and improve …appearance,” he said. When it comes to his patients, Dr. Newbrough said, “I advise patients that many plastic surgery procedures are very personal decisions; therefore, it’s important to take the time to think about how it will affect their life both now and in the future.” “While I perform a broad spectrum of plastic surgery procedures, my primary interests include breast reconstruction and other breast surgeries, body contouring, skin cancer treatment, as well as more complex reconstructions performed with other surgical specialties,” he said. When Dr. Newbrough isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his family and many outdoor activities like running, cycling, hiking and camping.
