You may notice a few sites with only positive, 5 star reviews for Dr. Scott Schoifet. Don't be fooled.....he has put up some sites where he "cherry picks" only the 5 star reviews....such as Orthopedic Reviews, Reconstructive Orthopedics ---go to other sites for real reviews !!

I'm not typically a person who writes reviews, but I feel my experience with Dr. Schoifet needs to be noted, especially as most of his reviews are 5 star positive. Is this because everyone is accepting his arrogance because of his surgical reputation? On Christmas Eve, the day after my first visit with Dr. Schoifet, I tore the meniscus in my knee. I did not call the dr. because it was the holidays and I thought i could tough it out. I did not know (my fault I should have checked) that Reconstructive Ortho had their own UC. Because I was in so much pain and could hardly walk by Jan. 9 (waiting for my new insurance card contributed to me waiting so long) my daughter took me to Rothman UC. I won't go into details about Rothman aside from saying they did put me out of work on disability, and they did listen and were respectful. The only reason I did not stay with Rothman, was because Dr. Schoifet was highly recommended by someone who's opinion I respect so my mind was set on him doing any… necessary surgery. After being discharged and going back to work, I went to my next appointment with Dr. Schoifet. I explained all that had happened to the nurse. I heard her telling him outside the exam room about me going to Rothman UC, and I could hear Dr. S whispering and laughing with the nurse but not what he said. Considering what happened afterward, I can only assume his whispering was about Rothman and me going there. He came into the room with an attitude. He made several disparaging remarks about Rothman which I found very unprofessional. He told me I did not tear my meniscus, in spite of the MRI results saying otherwise, but rather I "hurt my knee" because I am "weak" which he repeated several times. He has no idea what I do for a job, but it involves pushing heavy wheelchairs. When I told him doing that hurts my knees he said, "It shouldn't," which is true, and why I was going to him for help. Later when my knee buckled he told me to use a cane. I told him I can't use a cane at work so he said, "Lean on a wheelchair" and laughed. I could go on, but I will end this by saying I left that office feeling angry and humiliated. He was arrogant, unprofessional and rude. He may have a reputation as a great surgeon, but he absolutely needs help with his professional manner, listening skills and arrogance. While I agree with his strength building before surgery program, his condescending attitude is insulting.

WHEN I DID NOT PRESENT AS A SURGICAL CANDIDATE HE COULD HAVE CARED LESS ABOUT TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. HE MIGHT BE A GOOD SURGEON, BUT HE IS DISMISIVE, PRESUMPTIVE AND ARROGANT,

I recently went to Dr. Schoefet for a knee replacement consultation. He was wonderful and explained the process completely. Before leaving, he gave me a cortisone shot in the other knee and proceeded to MISS the joint. I was bruised at the shot site and within 24 hours I was having a bad reaction including extreme flushing, anxiety and rapid heartbeat. When I finally received a call back, Dr. Schoifet basically said multiple times that if I did not feel confident with him I should not have him do the procedure and that it was elective. He did a 360 degree turn from the charming, caring Dr. I spoke to during the consult to an arrogant uncaring, unpleasant doctor. IF he missed the knee joint-do you really want him to replace he knee in a major surgical procedure?

Visit ok. Office phone system excruciatingly and overly complicated.

Excellent outcome for this procedure! I was able to leave the hospital in a day! I decided to get rehabilitate therapy but I really didn't need it. I had no pain except a little from the stitches. So I was home and back to normal in 2 days??.Dr. Scott Schoifet knows his stuff and is a very good surgeon!

I just feel as though I had the VERY BEST SURGEON on the east coast. I feel like a new human being....pretty good at 75! I would recommend Dr. schofiet to anyone, actually, my brother is thinking of seeing him to have his second knee replaced from Malvern, Pa. I would trust Dr. schofiet with my precious brother!

I was totally pleased with Dr. Schoifet's diagnosis and follow up. He replaced both of my knees over a 4 month period. I was walking hours after surgery. Recovery came around 2 months after with the help of therapy and determination. I am totally happy with my results from Dr. Schoifet.

Dr. Scott Schoifet is a great doctor and has great bedside manners, he replaced both my knees and I am very satisfied with his work.

I would absolutely choose Dr. Schoifet, MD again. He replaced each of my knees at different times. He was thorough, professional, and did an EXCELLENT procedure. I have been recommending Dr. Schoifet and his marvelous staff, and i only hope my friends will visit him when they are ready for replacements. I can't say enough about my experience at Virtua either - again EXCELLENT!!!!
