Dr. Scott Lawrence Simon, MD

I had a sudden brain aneurysm that was followed by 4 brain surgeries. Dr. Simon is the best. I love him. Great bed side manner. He saved my life, what more can I say?

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother who's going to be having surgery with dr. Simon I have set in on every appointment that she has had with him he has gone above and beyond with her staff is very courteous he has put my mom's mind at ease for the upcoming surgery I would highly recommend Dr Simon and his staff we will do a follow-up after surgery

Would not recommend had surgery and ended up with nerve damage. My left foot is completely numb which was fine before surgery. I'm not able to go back because my insurance owes him $300.00 they will not see me after giving me nerve damage. I hope this review helps someone go to different Dr and have better outcome. I wouldn't recommend this Dr to my worst enemy

I had surgery because for 8 years I suffered with L4-5 rods from NY hospital for specail surgery they SUCK!They never told me they took this hardware off the market!NO ONE would remove it,Dr Simon is a blessing they numb that hardware I got relief he said I'll take it out also,I did a private Metal test I WAS allergy to titiamun and nickel. Dr.simon said it broke the scre gun trying to unlock the screw he googled knew it was bad!he is the BEST DR out there, I also has a biopsy he did came back POSITIVE for Borriellis which is a co infection of Lyme disease,why I had lesions all in c spine T spine,hoping around I couldn't walk, many said MS.dr Simon felt it wasn't lighten up as MS lesions are!so I am on treatment to Lyme learning to walk again from the Lyme disease, Dr Simon is a BLESSING a true blessing!go with him!go with Dr Simon!I wish I had found him 8 years ago!!!!Glad I have him now!

Dr. Simon's skill set, perceptivity, intelligence, and bedside manner sets him apart from all the other surgeons I interviewed prior to my surgery. He has a finesse that is evident both in the quality of his analysis and care, as well as his ability to execute. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering spine surgery. I credit him with providing me with a new and better life.

After 8 years of suffering in NY.I found Dr. Simon.I had back fusion on L4-L5 at Hospital for special surgery what a nightmare in 2005 by Dr.Frank Cammisa he fused those levels, never telling me that the screws were taking OFF the market with problems, I suffered until I found Dr. Simon. I said no one will take this out of my back I can't walk, losing function in right leg,numbness pain in L 4-5 area. Dr Simon says we will do a hardware injection that numbs the screws for 2 hours, I had relief, he then did the surgery. My L4 screw was extremely difficult to take out.Dr. Simon did it. Sent me to a pain management Dr. snowball who helped me too, in Stamford CT. I rather deal with CT then NY! Since no doctors here listened to me. I am also allergy to titanium so. Dr. Simon is GREAT he really saved my life. So if you have had fusion your back does fuse,my surgery was done back in2005. I didn't have to wait this long. BUT I needed to find Dr.Simon then, but, he's great I highly recommend… him, bring all your disc's or films. He really studies them. I didn't feel rushed or thrown out the door as other doctors. And I have gotten results. I can not praise him enough. Lyda in office is sharp with Workers comp too. So all went smoothly. Again I highly recommend him. He is more state of the art not just old school.I like that too.thank you Dr. Scott Simon.

After years of trying alternative therapies for my back pain with no positive outcome, a friend recommended Dr. Scott Simon's practice (ONS) and I feel as if I won the lottery when I landed my first appointment with him for consultation/second opinion. I had a list of 20 questions (literally) and after we spent 40 minutes and only got the first 5 questions handled because he was so thorough with his answers, he was scheduled for another meeting. Instead of ending the appointment, he asked if I wouldn't mind waiting for him to get through that meeting, and then he'd resume our appointment because he really wanted to answer all my questions about having back surgery. When he returned about 40 minutes later, Dr. Simon spent another half hour (at least) showing me on the computer what the MRI and X-Rays confirmed as necessary spinal fusion and laminectomies which no other ortho or neurosurgeons had ever done. I felt he was educating me rather than trying to sell me on the idea of surgery… so that moving forward it would be my decision, not his. His response to my fears and tears moving forward was absolute empathy, understanding and compassion rather than, "Oh don't worry dear. We do this all the time and you've got nothing to be afraid of." He explained exactly what would happen in surgery, what I could expect in terms of pain post-surgery and how long it would take me to get back to normal. I never felt more assured and confident in a doctor than I did (and still do) with Dr. Scott Simon. Furthermore, he requested to meet with my husband so that he could explain the details of the procedure to him. Again, this appointment was on time (no long wait time at his office) and he showed my husband on the computer screen exactly what he'd shown me. He takes the time and is willing to stay with me during an appointment to make sure I have all questions and concerns completely understood. The surgery has been successful and the recovery is exactly as Dr. Simon described. I couldn't be more pleased with how he treated me during my hospital stay, and how competent, kind and compassionate he is. I consider Dr. Simon an expert in his field and will recommend him without a moment of hesitation.

This Doctor needs additional training in treating spinal trauma. He has to learn to work with other physicians and not think he is always right. I wasted my time and money visiting this doctor; never again!

Dr. Simon is patient, kind, and careing. Makes knowledgable and well thoght about decissions for the correct treatment or care to provide.
