Dr. Scott Joseph Walker, DO

Scott Walker is an irresponsible, negligent care provider - at best. I was induced at 40 weeks 3 days with cytotech. This was his first mistake. After ample research I've come to realize that cervidill would have been a more appropriate option for someone who was not dilated and not effaced. Anyway, contractions start and continue regularly. My labor does not progress past this point for 48 hours. Around the 48th hour he says we will start pitocin to get things moving quicker. It takes about 8 hours after he declares we need pitocin before it is actually administered. He told me he was too busy with too many other patients. We are creeping into day three of labor, no eating or sleeping and in constant pain. Two hours after pitocin is administered he decides we need a c section, NOW. Many things go very wrong starting here. First, I was given no IV antibiotics, standard procedure for c sections. Second, I was given an option to be put to sleep if it was a preference. Being a terrified… first time mother I choose that. Other doctors have all agreed if it was not a necessity there should not have been a choice. Third, when I awake from my c section I can feel everything, I tell the nurses, I tell Walker, I am sobbing and begging for help and I am denied any relief. Two hours later I am finally rolled down to the recovery unit and another two hours later my baby is brought to me for the first time. I beg the nurses for pain relief and they say they need a prescription from Walker before they will help. He didn't not respond for 24 hours, at which time he said if I made it this far with medication it was clearly unnecessary. He allowed me ibuprofen. My son was jaundiced, Walker refused photo light therapy and vehemently insisted that formula was the best solution. I was breastfeeding and expressed my concerns about supplementing undermining my supply. He disregarded my concern. Later that night when a nurse helped me out of bed for the first time and I was so weak and shaking she alerted Walker and got him to agree to 1 Norco tablet every 6 hours. She was disappointed and said her typical c section mom received 2 Norcos every 4 hours. I discharged from the hospital 4 days and 4 blood transfusions later. I was sent off with a prescription for 30 Norcos. This was not adequate for someone recovering from a major abdominal surgery. I started to formula feed because my son's jaundice progressively got worse. I still have nightmares about when I woke up from surgery. This man is sadist, I sincerely hope he never has the chance to abuse another woman in this way.
