Dr. Scott E Williams, DDS

After graduating from Reynoldsburg High School in 1980, Dr. Williams went on to attend Ohio State University Newark Campus. After his freshman year, Dr. Williams served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brisbane, Australia.
Once home, he attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Chemistry. It was then that he married his childhood sweetheart, Sarah, with whom he has had three wonderful children: Melissa, Nikki and Alex.
OSU College of Dentistry
Dr. Williams went on to attend the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, graduating in 1990 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Throughout his studies at OSU, he earned numerous awards and honors. Dr. Williams was one of only two senior dental students placed on the training staff of the Ohio State University Athletic Department.
While on the training staff, his duties included caring for any trauma sustained during an …athlete's play, constructing custom mouth guards and performing oral surgery (mainly wisdom teeth removal). Without these treatments, athletes were less able to perform in his or her chosen sport.
His experience serving as a team dentist and with an office in the Woody Hayes Practice Facility created a die-hard Buckeye fan. Dr. Williams will be glad to take a trip down memory lane with you, showing you his letter jacket and OSU flag which was presented to him by the OSU training staff for his 89-90 season of service.
Dr. Williams also earned a Certificate of Recognition from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology for outstanding achievements in the field of dental anesthesiology.
Staying Up-to-date with the Latest Techniques
Dentistry is a dynamic field, constantly changing. Techniques and materials continuously evolve. Dr. Williams believes in keeping up with the latest. With a great deal of emphasis on continuing education, Dr. Williams serves both as a lecturer and as a student.
He delivers lectures that cover oral and IV moderate sedation techniques to other dentists and staff. He has participated in more than 1000 hours of continuing education courses. He was awarded Fellowships from the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He also holds a Master's Certificate from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the College of Conscious Sedation.
While he's deeply dedicated to his practice, both patients and staff, Dr. Williams feels most at home when surrounded by his family. His daughter, Melissa, graduated in April 2008 with a degree in dental hygiene from the Utah College of Dental Hygiene and recently returned to Zanesville to practice with her dad. She was married in June 2006 to Ben Heemeyer of Troutdale, Oregon who also graduated in April from Brigham Young University.
Nikki is a student at Brigham Young University evaluating her future career options. Alex attends Tri-Valley High School and enjoys playing his saxophone in the band.
