Dr. Sean Alfred Ellison, MD

I started going to Dr. Ellison and felt he was educated in Endocrinology but not in dealing well with patients personally. I would see him including follow-up visits and after the visit he would send me to their clinic in their office to have my blood drawn. Never understood why this was not done prior to the visit so we could discuss the results. He would send something via My Chart as to what the results were. I was told by his staff that this is the way he wants to do it. Apparently, if I wanted to talk with him personally about it, I would have to wait until my next visit or set up another appointment and pay another co-pay. This doctor needs to be more personable with his patients. I felt like I was just another person on an assembly line. Not going back!

This was the worst doctors experience of my life. He showed no care for my goals and concerns and proceeded to try and diagnose me without having seen any of my medical history---that his office lost after they had been faxed by my referring physicians office. All he wanted was to push synthetic hormones at me despite my wishes for more thorough investigation. He acted as if I and my husband were a waste of his time

Dr. Ellison has worked with me for 8 yrs, trying to manage my diabetes and thyroid mass. He continually adjusts my medications and always has a plan of care ready for me.

I have been a patient of Dr Ellison for at least 20 years and have been very pleased with him. He is my primary care physician and also my Endocrinologist. I am a terrible patient so far as doing what I should be doing to keep my diabetes under control but Dr Ellison keeps trying to make me do better. He is concerned about my health and I am sure that there are a lot of rules he would like to change with Cone/LeBauer. I'll stick with him so long as he sticks with me.

As long as you don't watch him eat, he seems to be a good doctor. I have seen him for many years, and unfortunately with the Lebauer affiliation with Cone, Dr. Elison has more paperwork, and stricter rules to follow. Like other reviewers mentioned, he does charge for paperwork, but it's Lebauer's policy, not his. Often, he does give me samples, and I am unemployed at this time, and every little bit helps. I have asked for some tests, but, without certain diagnosis, he can't prescribe them, unless I pay out of pocket for them, and that gets to be too expensive. After getting to know Dr. Ellison, I have found him to be a truly wonderful, smart, unconventional doctor that beats to his own tune, while still caring about all of me, not just my thyroid issues. He's willing to do the long term if you let him.

I have been with Dr. Ellison for 20+ years. He has stood by me through good and bad. He has never failed to let me talk or discuss a condition and has even agreed at times to make changes I suggest. He is not the most on time Dr. but when he is with you, you are the only patient he has. Dr. Ellison has helped me through the most minor problems through the death of my wife, cancer and hip replacement. He has fought my blood pressure for years and has finally won the battle. I would recommend him to anyone. As far as bed side mannor. He has a dry sense of humor but he is a funny man who you can get close to and tell him your every problem.

Dr. Ellison has always answered all my questions and he has always ask how my health is. I have had other issues which he has helped me with very quickly. No Issues with this Doctor!

after seeing another Endocrinologist prior to Dr. Ellison, I am very happy with Dr. Ellison. He listens, answers my questions and explains things to me until I completely understand them. I would highly recommend him to anyone!! His nurse is great too!!
