Overall Experience: Highly Frustrating and Disappointing My experience with Dr. Gunning and his office was incredibly frustrating, marked by poor communication, inaccurate information, and a sense that the focus was more on billing for services than genuinely addressing my concerns. * Initial Contact: It took multiple calls just to get a callback from the office. * Scheduling Misinformation: I scheduled an appointment after being referred by another dermatologist for skin testing. I specifically asked if testing could be done on the first visit and was assured it could. I also inquired how long I needed to be off Prednisone and B-dryl prior to testing, and after being placed on hold for clarification, I was told I didn’t need to stop taking them. * Appointment Delays: I had an 8:30 a.m. appointment and arrived at 8:20 a.m. with all new patient and insurance paperwork completed in advance. Despite this, I wasn’t taken to a room until 9:15 a.m. * First Visit with Dr. Gunning: Dr.… Gunning spent less than five minutes with me, frequently interrupting as I tried to explain what I believed was triggering my symptoms. He dismissed my input, stating, “You’re allergic to something. Probably something you’re ingesting. We need to test you.” I responded, “Yes, that’s why I was sent here,” but felt unheard. He then informed me I’d need to return for three separate appointments — Monday, Wednesday, and Friday — two weeks later, contradicting what I’d been told about testing on the first visit. * Testing Confusion: At the Monday appointment for test placement, I remarked, “I’m surprised I didn’t need to be off Prednisone or B-dryl for testing.” The staff replied, “You do,” yet no one had asked if I was taking them, and they proceeded with the test anyway. * Follow-Up Results: On Friday, I was told I had a “slight reaction” to Blue Dye 2 — one of the triggers tested. Dr. Gunning made a lighthearted comment about my blue scrubs not causing a reaction, and I was never provided a list of what was tested. When I asked if he’d tested for the specific chemicals I suspected (which I’d mentioned during the first visit), he said, “Oh no, we don’t test for specific things unless someone comes in telling us they’re reacting to something” — despite me doing exactly that initially. * Post-Testing Issues: Less than 2 weeks later, I had a reaction, but Dr. Gunning had implied the reaction was a contact issue, and hadn’t informed me it could be present in medications, food, or other sources. I requested oral Prednisone, as topical treatments hadn’t worked for me previously and the issue was ingestion-related. He repeatedly prescribed topical steroids instead. It took 48 hours of persistent calls to the office before he finally agreed to prescribe a short course of oral Prednisone. The communication in this office is abysmal, and the information provided is consistently unreliable. I left feeling like my concerns were dismissed and that the priority was billing for multiple visits rather than identifying and addressing my issue. I would not recommend Dr. Gunning or his practice to anyone seeking thorough, patient-centered care. Dr. Casey Davis

This doctor always rush you out his office never diagnosis you correctly and you just pay your fees and he don't even care about your concern don't listen to you either

I was referred to Dr. Gunning by another dermatologist for a special skin test. I sat in the office with my dermatologist's scheduler while she called in and scheduled this appointment over a month out (his availability was very tight). On the day of the actual appointment, I was disappointed to learn that Dr. Gunning's receptionist scheduled this test on a day that he cannot complete the test. They wanted to schedule me for another month out! I was livid, and Dr. Gunning urged his staff to find time slots for me to complete the series of visits in the following week. I was really grateful for that because it touched on a very critical point for me--good customer service. If they had not accommodated me this would be a very different review. Overall, I think Dr. Gunning accomplished what I needed. I don't feel that he spent a lot of time with me to really develop a relationship. It could be because I was referred by another doctor, or it could be because I was squeezed into an already… tight schedule, but I was happy enough with his willingness to be flexible to try and visit him again.

Dr.Gunning runs an efficient office and he is quite good. I don't like to spend a lot of time or unnecessary energy. I arrived early for my appt and scheduled first appts of day. Both front desk and back medical staff were friendly and professional. Dr. Gunning saw me promptly, listened and heard what I said. Examined and removed the growth eliminating the need to return for the removal. He diagnosed and shared information voluntarily unlike other dermatologists I've been to in the past. I am impressed and don't say that often. I knew this required a biopsy and am always pleased by an doctor who is wise enough to take that extra step.

Dr. S Gunning is very accurate with his diagnosis and he have a lot of patient with you. Helps you to understand what is happen and how he can help you.

I wish all other physicians offices would be like this one. Appointment times are strictly adhered to. Very prompt, professional and smart. I will recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Gunning was one of the worst specialists I have seen. Long waiting time and I paid the price by having an extremely short office visit with him. There was no real exam. He spent all of 10 minutes with me for a NEW PATIENT EXAM! He told me that he would follow up with me when he did a biopsy. I had a second opinion and that Dermatologist took more time with me and told me that the biopsy for my condition was NOT necessary. Also his staff is very uneducated in the dermatology specialty. I took a piece of paper out to the front desk with a probable diagnosis on it and the assistant asked ME what it was. I told her, but she said she would look it up on Google. And she did! Front office had no knowledge of medical terminology and they seemed to be more interested about texting and gossiping. This visit was a TOTAL waste of my time!

First, let me say that the office staff is extremely nice and caring. I spoke to India who was more than happy to bring me in the same day to be seen as a new patient. I was called to the back (I am assuming by the doctor, he had a white coat but never introduced himself), and felt rushed from that moment forward. I was given a script for medication to use, even though he didn't think I had the illness that this med was used for. He even gave me an ointment that I told him I had purchased one week earlier and had no success. Staff is the best...enough said!
