Dr. Sean William Marquis, MD

My wife was treated by Marquis at Mercy Walworth ER. She presented with shortness of breath, chronic cough, elevated heart rate, and SpO2 88%. The nurse administered oxygen and the tech was preparing to draw blood for labs. Dr Marquis entered the room and called off the technician saying he would not be ordering labs. He then sat at the computer station and reviewed my wife’s medical records. He instructed her to see a pulmonologist for her COPD and asthma. Oddly my wife had never been diagnosed with either. He never auscultation her lungs with a stethoscope or examined her in any way. He then released her. She had a very bad evening and we returned to the ER in the morning and saw another physician. They ordered labs and CT scan and determine that she was suffering from double pneumonia. Dr Marquis’ lack of proper care and medical attention is inexcusable. I followed up with a complaint to Mercy Hospital and received a letter from the ER lead doctor. He informed us that Dr… Marquis’ overall care was within the guidelines of Mercy ER. Again I say INEXCUSABLE!!! Those are not only my words but the opinions of three other doctors I shared the story with. Do not trust this doctor.

I saw Dr. Marquis at the emergency department on a weekend after not being able to get in to the regular Mercy doctor because it was a Friday afternoon. I had severe pain in my temple/ear area that came on suddenly from what I believed was a sinus infection. He was very condescending and rude. He acted like I was wasting his time, although I was in severe pain and didn't want to go the whole weekend with that pain getting worse when I could be starting to treat the infection. Very, very rude.
