dr.Selene Parekh save my foot from being amputated. I had a rare condition necrosis of the talus on my left foot.i was a first responder during and after the attacks on September 11 2001 due to exposure and walking at the piles I concurred this illness.I went to 6 different orthopedic doctors in New York and New Jersey and the only conclusion for them was amputation or fusion of the foot and not be able to walk normal again. After I research I found dr.PAREKH I had an appointment with him he gave me a different way of life dr. PAREKH performed the total talus replacement and after 3 years I am still walking normal and doing my exercises like nothing ever happened to me for those that are going through the same or similar issues take time to search and don’t settle keep searching dr. Parekh safe my life and the way I look into my future dr.parekh have the most best interest in your health and bed manners very professional and caring human being.I will always be indebted to dr Parekh

Dr. Parekh was wonderful - he saw me promptly after a fall for a very painful and swollen foot and ankle and identified a potential issue that another orthopedist that I had seen before him had completely missed. He ordered an MRI and his office got authorization for it within a couple days. When I saw him again, he actually looked at the images, ruled out the injury he was worried about and very kindly explained exactly what the MRI showed. He was also genuinely happy that I didn’t have that particular injury, instead of wanting to do surgery like many doctors. I was very pleased with his care.

DR.SELENE PAREKH HAS THE MOST AMAZING BED SIDE MANNERS AND PROFESSIONALISM. I WAS A ELITE RUNNER 3RD PLACE ON MY AGE GROUP IN NEW JERSEY STATE, IN SEPTEMBER 2022. I EXPERIENCED AN INCREDIBLE SHARP PAIN UNDER MY LEFT FOOT WHILE GETTING UP FROM MY CHAIR AT WORK IN NEW YORK CITY AFTER 2 VISITS TO MY FORMER SPORT ORTHOPEDIC HE DIAGNOSED ME WITH AVASCULAR NECROSIS OF MY LEFT TALUS BONE. MY ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR STATED THAT I WOULD EVENTUALLY LOOSE MY FOOT. THEN I PROCEEDED TO GET SEVERAL OTHER OPINIONS (4) TO BE EXACT FROM NYU-LANGONE HEALTH, NY PRESBYTERIAN SPECIAL SURGERY AND HSS IN NY, AND (2) OTHER DOCTORS IN NEW JERSEY. THEY ALL CAME TO THE CONCLUSION OPTION (1) AMPUTATION OR FUSION OF MY FOOT. THIS WAS NOT THE OPTION I WAS HOPING FOR. I STARTED DOING INTENSIVE SEARCH I CAME UPON A COMPANY (PARAGON 21) AND I PROCEEDED TO REACH OUT TO THEM EXPLAINING MY HEALTH SITUATION. TWO DAYS LATER THEY ADVISED ME TO REACH OUT TO DR.PAREK AT ROTHMAN ORTHOPEDICS INSTITUTE. I MADE THE APPOINTMENT EVEN… THOUGH, AT THIS POINT I FELT DEFEATED AND ADAMANT THAT DR.SELENE PAREKH WOULD TELL ME THE SAME SAD STORY AS THE LAST (6) DOCTORS HAVE. TO MY SURPRISE DR.PAREKH GAVE ME GAVE ME THE OPTION OF A TOTAL TALUS REPLACEMENT. ALTHOUGH I HAD TO BE PATIENT AND WAIT SIX PLUS WEEKS FOR THE TALUS REPLACEMENT TO BE CUSTOM MADE, IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT CONSIDERING ALL THE OTHER OPTIONS I WAS GIVEN. I WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR DR.SELENE PAREK FOR SAVING MY LIMB AND GIVING ME THE QUALITY OF LIFE BACK. I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DR PAREK AND ROTHMAN ORTHOPEDICS FOR THEIR PROFESSIONALISM AND CARE. This doctor left me permanently disabled. I needed three surgeries to fix the damage he did I was in better condition with a broken ankle before he touched it. I will never feel my foot again or have full range of motion. I needed three surgeries to try to fix the damage but was left with permanent partial disability at 23 years old

I have had two significant surgeries on my left foot with Dr. Parekh. A total ankle replacement in 2013 and a complex osteo-arthritis/bunion surgery to correct distortion that the osteo-arthitis caused, forcing my foot to turn to a right angle to my leg. The total ankle replacement was a remarkable success. Years of pain were erased. My second surgery was Oct. 2018. I now can walk with my foot straight. My balance is so improved that I do not have to walk with an aide. He is dirrect but I have never seen him anything but caring. My husband and I feel that he is the very best for foot related issues and if you want the best, he is it. I will be having the osteo-arthritis addressed in my other foot with him soon becasue I trust him and I highly recommend him!

Dr. Parekh spent very little time with me, surgery failed (I have more pain than before surgery), and there is no plan for resolution. I simply do not understand how he has gotten good reviews. My interactions with him were more impersonal and uncaring than virtually any other doc I've seen.
