I'm not sure who I'm more upset with Nextcare system or the doctor. How this doctor let me out of the office without discussing my pain is unbelievable. My recent kidney infection was about as painful as my burst apendix at times. It is a uncomfortable sleep robbing pain that doesn't go away by itself. Having been diagnosed by Dr. Amato at the Nextcare clinic on Thomas Road and given a prescription for Cipro for 7 days I went home and Googled the internet for a good over the counter drug to take with the Cipro for pain. All the major drugs were listed as ask your doctor. I decided to take Ibuprofen and immediately after taking the drug my face started to twitch uncontrollably. More research on the Internet explained this adverse reaction and to stop taking the ibuprofen immediately. I called the office to get a suggestion on something else I could use and explained the symptom to the clinician and she said the doctor would call me back. Nearly 2 days later I get a voicemail from my… doctor that it was fine for me to take Ibuprofen so evidently the clinician didn't speak my native English very well. In regards to the facility the waiting room was clean and got served quickly. The first nurse that took my blood pressure was covered in boils indicating a staph infection. I was then moved to another room where I met with the doctor and a 2nd clinician came in to take my blood on a surface that was sticky to the back of my arm. I can't believe I was in an American Doctor's office. What has our healthcare system come to... Next time I'll just go to an ER and wait.
