Dr. Sencan Solay Unal, MD

Excellent doctor who cares. and provide state of art treatment for my kid

As I have struggled with depression/anxiety all of my life, I met Dr. Unal when I was at a low point, having just moved from California, feeling great isolation and my depression worsened. She was, for me, a light. Her concern, supportive insight greatly spoke to me. During the time I've seen her, my depression/anxiety has abated. She has spent time addressing much needed boundaries I have now developed. Dr. Unal, as well, worked with me through grief I was suffering. We are all a work in progress. Dr. Unal I will miss you.

I found Dr. Unal about 2 years ago after struggling with bi polar. At first I was mad, and didn't understand why I wasn't getting more help. I then tried to take my life one night. Unplanned, on an impulse and I don't remember much of it. I blamed her for awhile, and would go in fo see her only when I needed. It wasnt until my divorce and when I needed a letter written for work that I realized she knew me the hole time. None of this has to do with her, but my battle in my own head. Between her and my therpist (whom I saw off and on as well) I was able to somehow finally admit where all my issues began. For the first time I didnt feel crazy. For the first time my eyes opened and I realized who I truly am. Not someone who "isnt so bad" but someone who truly needed help. I am sad to see her leave my clinic, but I suppose the time is right as I am moving as well. I am going to seek further help, and probably more intensive help. I want to feel "normal" whatever that is. Only wish I have is… that I would have realized this sooner. Funny how I write this in a very manic state, but I have hope and I am controlling myself to my best ability. I know whatever records she sends on will only lead me ta better place.

Excellent patient interaction! She is able to connect with children and has awesome strategies for parenting trauma children. We will miss her!

The best doctor I ever had she pushed me to do things that I wouldn't have done but it was good for me. I would recommend to a friend. My family will miss her.

My children and I absolutely adore Dr. Unal. She takes the time to listen to the child's concern and also mine which I didn't have with my son's previous psychiatrist. She makes you feel like your child's wants and needs are important and doesn't do treatment for them just because that is what she wants....she listens to everyone.

Dr Unal has been a valuable asset to our daughters healthcare. She has followed our daughter for almost seven years. She has been a remarkable support person for our entire family as well.
