If you would have asked me to refer you to a chiropractor a couple of months ago I would have told you not to bother, they are all either dental school dropouts or sadists. Decades of experience and “treatment” by a large number of So. Cal. bone crunchers formed this opinion. I avoid them like Covid. Then I injured hurt myself on an ebike. I could not walk more than 50 paces, could not stand for more than four minutes and could not lie down without level 10 pain. I tried to cure myself with inversion therapy and hot tub time, icing and massage but nothing changed. The pain became too much. I called my primary doctor. He sent me to the So. County Urgent Care so I could be physically seen by a physician. It was here that Dr. Gentile referred me to Dr. Sepi Forstie @ Pacific Coast Chiropractic who just happens to be located in the same building. I grudgingly complied because I was getting worse, not better and the agony of not sleeping was taking a brutal toll. My eyes were so baggy… they could hold a ten day rain. Unlike every chiropractor I had seen before (40 years experience talking here) Sepi actually talked to me about my issues at length before doing anything. She then proceded to examine me in a slow and gentle manner so as not to cause me undue pain. After completing a very thorough exam and “testing” my mobility to identify the cause, location and range of my pain, she told me I had injured my sacroiliac and presented a treatment plan stating I would see a 40%-50% improvement in two weeks of PT. Then she hooked me up to a variety of machines to electronically ease the tension in my backside and leg. She did not attempt to “adjust” me like so many chiropractors have in the past. She recognized that would have to wait until the inflammation had gone down. She worked with Dr. Gentile to ensure I was prescribed the necessary medications to achieve that end. I stuck to her recommendations, took the meds and on the third week (after only five visits) I was pain-free and only had some mild discomfort at times. I was able walk and bend normally and able to sleep in my bed again. On my first visit I could barely walk from the parking lot to her door and had grown used to crying out in pain. Sepi never hurt me, never pushed me too hard, her bedside manner is perfect and you can actually see the wheels turning in her head as she questions you during the examination. She is very methodical and as a suffering patient you can feel her empathy. She cares. She’s gentle. She massaged my pain away. Never have I experienced chiro treatment like this. The results speak for themselves. If you’re tired of being manhandled like some inanimate contortionist doll and limping into and out the chiropractor’s office…go see Sepi once. She sets the bar so high other chiropractors need to charter a plane just to see it. You can thank me later.
