Dr. Sepideh Zahedy-Kapusta, MD

My concerns were extremely dismissed during my time at this clinic. Never have I cried during a doctor's appointment until here simply out of frustration. I went in having PCOS symptoms (not all but some), and was struggling to conceive (my main concern) Dr. Zahedy told me "theres no way you have PCOS. you're thin. you'll be pregnant by the end of the year". She also stated my super irregular period was probably due to COVID. Thats a lack of understanding of PCOS (now I have been diagnosed with PCOS, and been guided through treatment.) as well as a lazy diagnosis referring to COVID. The doctor scheduled me for a follow up appointment and when I went to that appointment she literally asked, "Why are you here? You are pregnant correct?" Did you not review my chart before meeting with me? I had to pay for the most pointless and thoughtless appointment. I had to advocate for an ultrasound because she didn't want me to get one. The ultrasound did show that I have cysts on both… ovaries--in alignment with PCOS. She told me the best she can do for me is to put me on birth control, without exploring what could actually be going on in my body. When I asked about a more holistic approach (as she states she includes holistic care on her website), she says "sorry but you're at the wrong place). Later I see she gave me a diagnosis of "Anxiety Disorder" which I've never had struggled with. I'm sorry I have anxiety disorder for not blindly accepting birth control as a cure to my infertility issues. Apparently advocating for your body is labeled Anxiety Disorder. My new doctor is not interested in a band aid approach to infertility and PCOS and actually listens to my concerns.

Where do I start? well let me start off by saying thaty my experience with this doctor has been nothing but great. From the staff to the doctor herself, they are very nice and professional. The staff will greet you with a smile (especially important for a preggo like me) and the doctor she is just simply amazing. She seems very caring, always comes in with a smile and gladly answers all your questions without making you feel dumb. She doesnt take my insurance but she is soooo good I had to stick w her. Yes she is that good that I rather pay out of pocket to keep her as my doctor than deal w the other doctors I tried to switch to. I have recommended her to all my girlfriends and lady family members.
