Dr. Sergio Leon, MEDICAL, DOCTOR, MD

I was also referred to Dr. Leon by one of my doctors. I only went because my last rheumatologist moved away. Upon my first visit I experienced pretty much the same way other patients felt. Rushed, looked more at his computer than me and said what he thought it may be without any new bloodwork to substantiate his comments. At that time I thought the next visit would be better after he saw lab work and listened to my concerns. Dr. Leon seemed to be just ok but his staff was a totally different story. I went in for another visit and was checking in when the young lady told me I could not wear the mask I had on. I said no problem and she was about to give me one when the office manager walked in and stated (believing I could not hear her) “why isn’t she wearing a mask?” For which the sweet young lady tried to explain that is just what she was doing. Lori (the office manager) proceeded to say, “they think they can get away with anything like they are special” and my assumption at that… moment was she means “black people!!” After that I was send a survey to let them know how they were doing. I also assumed surveys were confidential and only upper level professionals received them. Nope the office manager Lori received it and called me for clarification of what I heard. This was very shocking. After that everything went downhill. The office staff, including nurses became very rude to me. I needed some immediate help but was told they would place me on a waiting list!! Then added that I should go to an urgent care facility since they could not squeeze me in. I’ve seen a lot of doctors and by far I have never been told they couldn’t see me especially when my health was at risk. Things got worse and the nurse Nicole took her sweet time trying to get my infusions started. She also stated if they couldn’t get this done they would just have to do some other med!!!! I was so upset I finally stated they were “racist” for treating me different from other patients. The office manager, Lori contacted me while I was having my infusion to argue with me about what I said. She stated my remark was “derogatory” which in fact it was an “accusatory” remark. As we see she required grammar lessons and moral ethics on how to treat patients in an office setting. Lori was very unprofessional and requires far more training in order to run even the smallest office. I told her I was looking for a new doctor, however she sent me a registered letter stating I was being discharged from Dr. Leon’s care. It was like let me get her first before she leaves. A very childish and ridiculous manner in which she handled things. Dr. Leon does not run his own office but the uneducated personnel do. So glad I’m not with them because maybe next time my life would have been in jeopardy.

For the past two years, I have suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis, until my primary doctor referred me to Dr. Sergio A Leon. Now, my Rheumatoid Arthritis is under control and I feel great. Dr.Leon, is very diligent and cares for my health, because of him I can enjoy my summer vacation, pain free!!

Great doctor who is very patient and kind. Helped me get back on my feet when I was practically bed ridden from pain caused by arthritis. Now I can regularly go to the gym everyday and enjoy life pain free. His team is great too filled with wonderful and caring people.

Dr Leon was highly recommended by my PCP after seen other Doctors for my severe pain for several months. I my first visit, he listened to my complaints and examined me very thoroughly. Then he explained me that I was suffering from a rare disease called PMR and started me on a medication that relieved my symptoms very fast. The treatment has been very effective and I have been going frequently to his office for follow-ups. His staff is very friendly and professional. They accomodate to your schedule and needs. I highly recommend this Doctor to anybody. He is caring and compassionate.

Went to Dr. Leon after a referral from a primary care physician after joint problems & ambiguous bloodwork. After waiting for about 40 mins, he spent about 10 minutes with me, during which time he rushed through a brief physical exam and a look at my bloodwork. He didn't seem to listen to me when I explained that my symptoms were intermittent and all the bending and twisting my joints could do today would send me through the roof on another day, and spent most of the time talking very fast, looking at his computer instead of me, and telling me that I didn't have x, y, or z, instead of taking the time to talk with me about why I might be experiencing these symptoms, which he never fully answered, except to say (in the last 30 seconds of the appointment) "maybe muscle pain, or fibromyalgia", and sent me out the door with two prescriptions that don't seem to be doing anything. I had to push for him to authorize a more extensive bloodwork panel, and overall, it seemed that from the moment… he stepped into the examination room, he wanted me out of his office. Not going back.
