Dr. Seth Herbert Oppenheim, MD

I went to see Dr. Oppenheim for follow-up of a cataract the he had previously diagnosed. I waited a very long time in the waiting room, then I had to watch videos about eyes surgery. I waited for a long time in a secondary waiting room. Finally, I was shown to an examination room where I waited 45 minutes. I was about to leave when the doctor came in. He had apparently not read my chart beforehand, because after the exam he dismissed me without addressing the cataract. I asked about it and he said "You don't have a cataract". I corrected him and he glanced at my eye again and responded that it had not changed. When I left the exam room, the doctor was having a conversation in the hall. He and his pal had blocked the passage and did not move to let me and the PA pass. We had to squeeze past them against the wall.

I hadn't been to an eye doctor since I was a kid, so I wasn't sure what to expect. First, I saw Jay who did all the tests, and who was awesome. What a nice, personable, calm and professional man. Loved him! He immediately put me at ease and carefully explained everything he was doing. Then I saw Dr. Oppenheim, who was pleasant, funny & attentive. He did not seem rushed with me at all, in fact, the opposite was true. I was surprised to see the negative reviews because my experience was just fine. And, I was somewhat shocked that he didn't push prescription glasses; he said for me, right now, over the counter readers are all I need. I liked him a lot, and will definitely recommend his office should the opportunity present itself.

Prolonged wait time, very little time with doctor. e failed to review my chart before seeing me and I had to remind him of his diagnosis.from a previous visit.

I saw this doctor for an annual follow-up for a cataract. I spent an excessive amount of time looking at videos about the condition. The doctor was late, and when he finally saw me, he had not read my chart and when I asked about the cataract he said I didn't have one. I directed him to my chart and told him that he had diagnosed it. When I left, he and another doctor were blocking the hall. Dr. Oppenheim would not move, so I had to walk between the two doctors. My eyes were dilated and I was not given dark glasses. I tried to go back into the office, but the staff would not let me in. A neighboring optical store gave me glasses.

Dr. Oppenheim failed to read my chart before seeing me and overlooked a diagnosis he made during a previous appointment. He did not explain my condition. I do not trust his decisions and will not return to his care.

Rushed in, mentioned a diagnosis which had nothing to do with the history I gave his nurse. I guess it fit his diagnostic code so he could get paid. He did a quick exam, offred no treatment and left. I thought the visit was useless. I would not go back to him.

I was trying to get information on important test results for my father, thinking his regular opthlamologist would be the one to phone back. I was not told oppenheim was on call. He was so so very rude and upset that he had been paged. I have never experienced such rudeness from a supposed medical professional. Even though i quickly explained to him i was told a different doctor (my father's real lopthamologist), oppenheim continued to rant and rave about being paged, to the point that I just had to hang up on him. I understand there was an error about who was on call, but i attempted to explain the error, and apologized that the error was made, even though i shouldn't have had to offer an explanation, and definitely didn't need to apologize. Apparently, the horror that he had to make a phone call at 6:00 p.m. was unforgivable, since he continued to fuss about being called. Frankly, he doesn't deserve to see patients if he gets so put out because he had to push 7 buttons on his… phone. Oh the horror that must have caused him!

I had both lens replaced with B&L's CrystalLens HD. Both surgeries were without problems with very good professionalism and consideration given by Dr. Oppenheim. Good diagnosis, excellent explanation of appliances, and superb outcome. Dr. Oppenheim practices medicine and does not feel constrained by time in talking with his patients. Excellent doctor.

He is the worst doctor I have ever seen in my life.
