Dr. Shabnam Dadgar, MD

I would absolutely not recommend this doctor. The overall experience at the doctor’s office was unpleasant—super long wait times, brusque bedside manner, etc. The doctor never seemed to have read my medical files before our appointments, so I constantly had to remind her who I was and what I had come in for. For example, she would offer to test me for a condition she’d already diagnosed me with—which made me feel like she hadn’t reviewed my records at all. I also had some serious issues receiving proper care. There was a basic test I needed, and the doctors said she said she would “put in the paperwork” to get it cleared with insurance. A month or so later, I checked, and the office had lost the paperwork and I had to fill it out again. It took 3 months for me to get this test, and the results were delayed several weeks. I also never got to see the results—she summarized them for me over video call while on the phone with someone else. (At my new OBGYN, I can get this test on-demand… with results in 3 days.) Twice, I had to call the office to remind them to send a prescription after they forgot. One prescription never went through. The office blamed the pharmacy, but the pharmacy said they’d never even received the order. Most importantly, the doctor several times prescribed me a pill that, according to my new OBGYN, can have pretty serious drug interactions with another medication I take. Again, the doctor clearly did not check my chart before prescribing. I also received medical bills several months after receiving service, which is just not good practice. Overall, I found this doctor’s office very frustrating and would not recommend going here if you’re looking for timely, compassionate care!

Absolutely awful doctor. Avoid her at all costs. Unprofessional, rude, unresponsive to basic questions. Terrible provider. Should not still be practicing.

Shabnam Dadgar is by far the most rude and irresponsible doctor I have ever met! She is not only extremely unprofessional with her patients and staff, but also does not follow HIPAA regulations. All she cares about is money and she doesn’t care about her patients wellbeing. She treats her patients like they are dumb and have no understanding of their bodies and their choices. Also, she speaks very confusing English. AVOID!

I LOVE Dr. Dadgar. Don't look at any bad reviews...impossible. She is real. She gave me great advise and she cares. The nurses at Shady Grove love her too. She knows her stuff and I really recommend her. She will give you the straight goods. She even does her own ultrasound and shows you what she sees right as she sees it. I LOVE this lady.

If I could leave zero stars I would. The most important thing to know about her is that she requires a high number of unnecessary visits, which she likely does to rack up fees - I've seen other reviews say similar things. For my IUD insertion, she requires a transvaginal ultrasound AND blood pregnancy test (talking to other medical professionals, only a manual exam is necessary to understand how your uterus sits and urine pregnancy test). She would've made me get 3 consultations prior to my insertion, before I decided to look elsewhere. She also has horrible waiting times (45 min+) and no respect for her patients and their preferences - it's either her way or the high way. She also has a highly incompetent office manager (also have seen reviews mention this). The first time I visited, I asked if they'd require a copay (which they said no), and then later received a delinquency notice in the mail without any written or verbal notification of a billing before.

Dr. Dadgar, while seemingly competent, requires a ridiculous amount of effort to get a simple IUD compared to other OBs (a pregnancy blood test and transvaginal ultrasound). When I talked with other medical professionals, they said the standard is a urine pregnancy test and manual exam to understand how to place the IUD. I believe she likely requires additional visits in order to rack up her bill. Her office is also thoroughly incompetent since they failed to bill for me for my copay during my visit (even after I urged them to check if I needed one), only to then mail me a delinquent notice for a $30 copay that probably affected my credit score.

Always thorough and makes you feel comfortable

I have been going to Dr. Dadgar for about 4 years now and even when I moved to PA I still drive down there just to see her. No matter how busy her schedule is she always makes time for me or squeeze me in her busy schedule and she always tells me the truth and if she is not sure she always has the best recommendations. I dont know what I'll do without her. Thank you for being my gynecologist Dr. Dadgar. You are the best.

I absolutely ADORE Dr. Dadgar. She is not fluff but she keeps it very real. She truly believes in her work, truly truly believes in it. Dr. Dadgar is very thorough very up to date and extremely knowledgeable. It is her passion! She does not sugar coat things she keeps it 100% with her patient. I have been trying get to pregnant for years and within a couple of months seeing her I've been blessed! Even if she has a family emergency she still reaches out to her patients and is very committed. She definitely has a very busy practice so be patient and they always fit you in! The staff is always welcoming and no matter how many times I call her office or need to give her a message they ALWAYS accommodate me. I travel 1 hour to see her from Kent Island. That's how much of an amazing doctor she is! She will always be my OB! Unmatched! One of a kind. Thank you Dr Dadgar!

Dr Dadgar is an amazing doctor. She is very friendly and caring,and she does her job very responsively.She explained my questions and concerns very well, and helped me to overcome my stress. I love this doctor . I would highly recommend her.
