Dr. Shadae J Najmabadi, PhD

Good afternoon, We went to an appointment last month and from the moment we walked through the door the doctor "Dr. Shadae Najmabadi, PSY.D" only told me NO! My son has been awaiting a psychological evaluation for Dyslexia in the School District for almost a year. I explained to her that my health insurance had not previously approved the Referral to the Psychologist and this year they finally accepted it. Now they accepted it because the child is repeating the second grade and apparently it is related to the suspicion of dyslexia, but she simply told me that she could not perform the evaluation until the School gave him special treatment for at least 6 months and she gave me several phone numbers so that She would call and resolve with the School...because according to her, the School and the School District are doing things wrong. I burst into tears, due to the frustration of waiting so long and seeing that I am back to the beginning...finally she agreed to take the Evaluation and… gave me an appointment for August 27. Today they called me to cancel the appointment because she was not BILINGUAL....I never asked for a bilingual evaluation... She definitely doesn't want to serve us...and now I wonder if it has something to do with our language and our race... I cannot recommend a doctor who, after an hour of appointment, was not able to know exactly what language my son speaks, because although he is Latino, he speaks English much better than Spanish, but she did not know because she was not interested. It's a shame, I will continue looking for someone in Tampa Bay who simply understands that I need to do a psychological evaluation on my son to find out if he has dyslexia. Thank you
