Dr. Shahid Qaiyum Mallick, MD

Dr Mallick is a great doctor but his staff is the worsed I have experienced in 70 years. Slow, uncaring, unfeeling and just plain rude. After seeing the doctor for about 6 months (overnight sleep studies etc,) I received a call from HIS staff today telling me they no longer take my insurance and left me completely out in the cold. I am supposed to have an appointment tomorrow but it has been cancelled by them. Hey folks he is a "pulmonary doctor" !! My recommendation is to find a doctor with an adequate staff that wont do what they did to me, to you!

I did not like the doctors demeanor. No test were run to find out my problem so I was misdiagnosed and given drugs to mask the breathing problem I was having. No follow up and 3 weeks later I was diagnosed with pneumonia by another specialist. Dr. Mallick's office personnel are very disorganized and unconcerned for the patients needs. I did receive a follow up call by staff trying to sell me on a sleep test which I do not need. I would never recommend this Doctor.

He is a very very good doctor...and treated me with so much kindness, understanding & respect :)

I have sleep apnea and needed a new sleep study. My doctor referred me to Dr Mallick. I have now had 3 sleep studies, several years apart. One was done at a hospital, one was done at an independent business that did nothing but sleep studies and the third was in Dr Mallick's office. He is set up to do his own sleep studies. Of the three, I preferred the one done in his office. I did not have to spend much time waiting for the tech to get me ready, the techs I worked with were very nice, there was no feeling of activity just outside my door, and it took no time at all to finish up in the morning. It also cost me less than the other studies. I would recommend Dr Mallick for the sleep study alone, but should add that I liked Dr Mallick I found him attentive, knowledgeable, unhurried when we talked.

I have had a fever for 14 months. Then, bruises came 10 months ago. I think the breathing problems came around 5 months ago. My fever goes sometimes up to 103. The fever averages every 9 days and last about 8 to 10 hours. I have been tested for everything and seen numerous doctors. There has never been a diagnosis. After the breathing episodes, I went to Dr. Mallick. He made an effort and now with the medication he gives me; I have the fever down to every 6 weeks. Dr. Mallick put forth extra effort to help me. I cannot find what is causing the fevers, bruising, or breathing episodes. Nothing shows on the tests: no wheezing,congestion, or tightness in the throat. Dr. Mallick was the first to be able to find a medication to help prolong the episodes. Dr. Mallick shows care and concern. The next step will be a hospital evaluation during the fever suggested by Dr. Mallick. He really cares.
