Dr. Shahin Tissa Chandrasoma, MD

Came to see Dr. Parakrama T Chandrasoma in 2019 at Urology Associates Medical Group . I wanted to do a semen analysis in preparation for fertility. And his response was that it is not necessary as the probability of male having issues with semen is not that large and most likely the issue is with my female partner. We believed him and followed his medical advice since we thought he is a professional. We were chasing a ghost for two years until another doctor said it is only logical to check both partners. Which we did. It is a disgrace to a medical society having doctors who cannot even give proper medical advice. Check all the reviews when you choose a doctor. Never choose this one.

If you are in the search for a good Urologist and decent office, I would recommend that you don't get stuck with this office and make the same mistake like myself and others. As you can read other patients' review, we all experienced and got the same type of bad attitude and discriminate treatment from those office workers, especially the office manager, Cherry. You will not receive the right care and the good manner from these people if don't carry a good insurance policy or cash in your pocket. They will not give you any mercy even if you are in a dying situation. As for Dr. Chandrasoma, he is not a type of professional that willing to take his time to provide you with the detail medical information that you need to know. He only provides you with a very brief info and disappear from your sight He does not talk to you with any kind respects. He thinks that he is smarter everyone else. Do yourself a favor and save your life. Do not get hook with this office.

As you can see the comments from other patients. This office (specially the manager, Cherry) only care about money $$$ not patient. Even if you are dying but don't have $ or HMO insurance. They treat you like trash. Below are the outlines of CONS (no PRO) about this office - Bad attitude and manner (especially the office manager, Cherry) toward those patients who w/o good insurance or $. - If you are in an emergency situation, the 1st thing they will ask you is if you are insured. If not, they are not willing to assist you. - As for the Dr Shadrasoma, he is not the type of professional that willing to spend a bit of time to explain your concern. He provides with minimum information and try to get away or dismiss as soon as he can. Had to give him 1 star cause there was no option for ZERO stars. After waiting almost 2 months for an appointment, I was forced to see the physician's assistant. Before going in for a follow up I called his office to make sure my appointment would be with him and not his assistant. The office assured me that I would be seeing him but when I showed up to the appointment I had to see the assistant again. He was siting in the front office with his feet up on the desk, flirting with the office staff. When I confronted him, he got very irate and told me I would never see him it would always be his assistant.

For years I went to Urology Assoc - first I saw Dr. Weintraub which was good then years later I was given to Dr. Chandrasoma. He was fine and saw me through stones, issues, procedures and surgery. Luckily, I did not need him or them for a about 2 years but sadly I am in desperate now for surgery - and I called to make an appt. But they no longer take my insurance. Ok, I am willing to pay cash - I like and trust Chandrasoma enough for cash until she said you have to be a new patient...WHAT? We have been through much - I am not a new patient and I should not have to pay $500 to $800 for a first visit when I have been a patient since 1986 (on and off). And she said well that's our policy! I said, it's not like he isn't going to make a lot of money on me - but to cheat me out of 500 to 800 more is wrong. I am not a NEW patient. She said she would ask him if he would waive it and either he or she would call me back - shocker no one did! Money is more important to this group than patients!… For that I would give a negative 100. They do not deserve any patients because we are not important the almighty buck is. Shame -I stood up for Chandrosoma recently when some others were not so thrilled with him - now I will go back and say they were right and not only that he is greedy and not patient oriented. Shame! Greedy doctors give all doctors a bad name. Shame!
