Dr. Shahla V Mousavi, MD

My appointment with Dr. Mousavi was the worst doctorâ??s visit I have ever experienced. While I sat in the waiting room for 10 minutes, the nurse was chatting with Dr. Mousavi. The nurse made no eye contact at any time. She marched me to the scale and told me to get on with a full winter coat, hat and heavy boots. Youâ??d think sheâ??d have me stop and put stuff down in the exam room (which we passed). I waited in the exam room with an extremely loud clock ticking at my head for 15 more minutes (now 25 minutes of waiting time). When Dr. Mousavi came in, I smiled and said hello. She sternly shook my hand. She did not ask any pointed questions nor observe or examine me. I would not return to her. Her ignorance of musculo-skeletal issues was obvious. She did not palpate anything and did not care that Iâ??ve had unbearable pain. I looked normal to her and so she could not see beyond her narrow pragmatic point of view that you can stand up straight and still have issues in your vertebrae,… etc. Also, an inactive obese 50 year old cannot be compared with someone who has been active and pain free all of their life before sustaining injuries. The â??normalâ?? for these two people is drastically different. Someone who has always taken care of their body and has specific injuries CAN be helped. I just needed a referral. She didnâ??t think it was necessary despite the fact that I am in constant pain. I found Dr. Mousavi to be self-righteous, abrasive and closed minded. Perhaps sheâ??s good with internal medicine or infectious disease, but I would stay away from her if you are dealing with brain injuries or any musculoskeletal issue.
