Shahrokh Javaheri, MD

Dr. Javaheri is a doctor who really seems to care about his patients. He is kind, respectful and considerate. I have told a number of people that I believe he could really help them with their sleep issues. The downside comes when I have to also tell people that the two women in the position of his support staff are nowhere near is caliber. If he had a more professional staff this place would be AMAZING. Barb is the WORST! She is the receptionist. I do not know what her job title is, but it has been my personal experience that SHE makes decisions that she is NOT in a position to be making. She even went so far to tell me that I wasn’t allowed to bring something to my sleep lab visit which was blatantly ILLEGAL for her to do. So, be careful of her. She thinks her britches are a lot bigger than they really are and she can cause you some serious issues because of it.

Dr. Javaheri was pleasant during our visits, but his support staff (nurses, receptionists, insurance billing dept) all made getting diagnosed with sleep apnea/narcolepsy a horrible experience for me. I've had an initial consultation, 3 additional office visits, an overnight sleep study, a daytime/nightime sleep study (cancelled by provider's billing dept), hours spent on phone calls with Anthem and zero medical help for sleep related issues so far. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you need to schedule a sleep study. I can't speak to whether this doctor is good, but even if he is, it isn't worth dealing with his team.

Dr. J is excellent at his craft, and his ability to explain the necessity for CPAP to someone without medical knowlege, is surpassed only by his kindness.
