Dr. Shahwar Fatima Syed, MD

Saw her a few years ago. Accused me of not picking up a prescription. Well, Walgreen sends text messages. After the appointment I re checked my phone. No text from Walgreens. I went to the pharmacy to see if maybe they had tried to get ahold of me about this prescription I was supposed to have started. There was no prescription. The doctor”s office had not called it in. And she still labels me non compliant in the chart.

Saw this dr. about 10 years ago and won't go back. The receptionist gave me an appt. time and the person in front me said "wait you gave me the same date/time". The receptionist then told me the Dr. double or triple books so she can see more patients. Prescribed an antibiotic that an ER doc told me was inappropriate for a sinus infection (I'm allergic to penecillin). Also, I don't believe she is board certified but I would double check if I were you. Seems to give a lot of the "newer" meds that are very costly with no generics.

I have been with Dr. Syed for 13 years. I have been on Zoloft for 5 yrs and I was out of my meds and called sincel I don't get sick so it had been a year since I saw her said I need an appt made it and then got a call she will not refill my prescription told I need to see a psychologist.....it is all over the internet that you can NOT go cold turkey, I was so sick, she is good but I will never ever go back

In my opinion, this doctor was more like a lousy business than a Healthcare professional. On my first visit I waited patiently for over an HOUR And A HALF before I was even put in a room.. I work in customer service and am more than understanding when it comes to situations/days that get so busy your schedule gets overly booked. We talked, all seemed well... i was complaining about my heart racing periodically for no good reason. I am not a fan of medicine i need to take on a regular basis because i believe it does more harm over time than good. I expressed my concerns to her, she still prescribed me a daily anxiety medication. When I received my prescription (which they had called into the wrong pharmacy) I read all the possible/common side affects and one of them was racing heartbeat EXACTLY what I was trying to avoid. So I opted not to take the medicine for my own protection based off of the fact she never ran any tests on my heart to rule out there may be a bigger underlying issue.… Upon my next visit a month later, i waited in the waiting room for over an hour AGAIN! when she finally came to talk to me I expressed to her that I didn't feel comfortable taking that medication without knowing that my anxiety really is the issue. She told me I had wasted HER time and went on a whole rant about how long she's been a doctor and that i don't trust her and I should find a new physician. How would I trust her with my well being after one visit and an experience like this?! If you ask me she's making a profit off of these prescriptions and her ego has gotten to her head.

Really good, takes all the time you need. Also listens well.

I love this doctor I've been going to her for years! She knows her patients and will always explain any question you have. such a great environment!
