Dr. Shanta Mahmudi, MD

Dr Mahmudi has been my Dr for about 1.5 years and she does a good job of explaining medications and why. My rating is more about lack of communications When not face to face. I have recently tried to refill my Rx and ran into issues with Insurance and Preauthorization. I called the office twice, of course you get an answering service that just passes along the message. I asked twice to have someone calls me so I could explain what was being explained to me by the Insurance co. No call backs. I also send messages via MyChart which did get a response but again no one would call me to explain. Anyway 1.5 weeks later and messages only back and forth I find out I no longer qualify for the med coverage. I had to wait until my check up visit which was a few days after my second denial, so I could speak to Dr Muhmudi and get an explanation and then a second med option I could try. Please improve on communications. Please understand the patient is put in the middle between insurance and… the Dr and it is very frustrating trying to get answers and getting through the process. Thank you.

Dangerously dismissive and unprofessional, discriminates against patients with mental illness, doesn’t listen, sends wrong orders for tests and twists patients words to cover up her mistakes. Misses online appointments and doesn’t return calls, if confronted gets rude and says she has more critical patients than you. Dismisses your health concerns as “stress” related.

I recently had an AFIB attack and got rushed to the Emergency Room. I am now seeing Dr. Mahmudi every 3-4 months for check ups. She not only has everything as stable as can be but took the time to explain every medication I am taking and what it does to keep me healthier. I am NOT a person that likes to go to the Doctor but she has is calming and extremely knowledgeable of my multiple illness situation and I am very thankful for that.

One of the most professional, thorough, compassionate doctors in NH. Been under her care for over 2 years for several health issues. Recommended her many times to others!

Dr. Mahmudi is a wonderful, caring, professional and compassionate PCP. I only wish Mary in the office area would retire since she isn't very helpful and has a sarcastic demeanor. Please bring Patricia back, who was sincere, professional and on top of patient needs.

The billing office changed the charge for a standard yearly visit (covered by insurance) to a dermatologist appointment (not covered!) when I told the doctor I had really bad hives recently. I told the physician I took allergy medicine and she said just continue what you are doing. Apparently you can't tell your physician anything during your yearly appointment or else they will charge you for that specialty appointment. YAY! - keeping secrets from your doctor sounds like good medical practice! Dr. Mahmudi is a nice and capable doctor, but I won't be going back. If I cannot confined in my doctor, then how can they help me?

I have been impressed by Dr. Mahmudi's professionalism while showing tremendously compassionate care for her patients. She treats the whole patient, not just symptoms. She is thorough in her exams, testing and getting to the root of symptoms.

She is smart, compassionate and likable. I trust her judgment completely . She listens and prescribes appropriately.. Cant do better

Dr. Mahmudi is a very kind, thoughtful, compassionate physician. She is very easy to talk to regarding health issues, and I have never felt rushed. I enjoy the staff, and the care I receive.
