Dr. Shantanu Sudhak Kulkarni, DO

I have been seeing Dr. Kulkarni for almost a year, I wish I had at least one pleasant experience. When I went in to find out about my MRI results, not only did he not know about them, I had to hand him my copy, which he scanned, and went right on refilling my prescription. I didn't care about the prescription, I cared what my results meant. He has done 2 test shots on me, which I found out later should have been done after numbing the area, as if a needle directly into the nerves is not bad enough, he missed on the last test shot and my entire left side went numb for 2 days. Not my back however. When I told him about what I went through he told me it never happened. I can't imagine losing the use of both my arm and leg. He's horrible, please, find someone else, ANYONE else, don't put yourself through what I've went through.

Dr. Kulkarni is more worried about seeing next patient then making sure you are ok and understand everthing.

This doctor did not listen to anything I had to say. He ignored my concerns and in my opinion just dismissed me after he asked a couple questions. I will never recommend this doctor to anyone.

My daughter has been handicapped since birth. Severe back pain; Used to walk with crutches until school bus ran over her. Been in wheel chair for more than 10 years. Back is fused. Doctor admitted she had pain. Got up and told her to learn how to walk. He would not give her pain medications.

He was usually in and out in a matter of minutes. I never really knew the procedure I was getting because I felt rushed to make a decision right away. When I would ask a question he was already getting up for the door to leave and I felt very rushed. So a lot of my questions went unanswered if I could not think of them within the first few seconds of the visit. He seemed very knowledgeable however he just does not give the appreciated time to his patients that is needed. I felt like I was pushed in and out without really knowing anything that was going on.

I had a lumbar spine epidural today. He and the staff made sure to explain what they were doing even putting the drape on my back Given plenty of preinjection med,and then the med.I honestly felt ready to walk to recovery, but had to ride, The actual procedure and recovery took less than 25 minutes

No explanation about kind of shot even though I asked him. Was in shock when I got a bill for thousands of dollars. Even worse shot did not help one bit! Lots of money spent for nothing. Big waste of time and money for no results.

I had the misfortune of receiving a caudal epidural from Dr. Kulkarni. My only concern is that I would be numb and unable to feel the procedure. After being assured that I would receive a local anesthetic, and that the procedure would be easy, I agreed to permit the procedure to move forward. Unfortunately for me, I never received a local anesthetic. As I felt the needle pierce my skin, I waited to feel the numbing agent. Instead, only moments later, I felt the needle as it was pressed deeper into my back. Then I felt the pop, and realized I would be receiving the epidural without pain medication. I can attest that this was a most unpleasant experience, and can only urge others to avoid this practitioner to avoid suffering a similar experience. If you have the option to choose another doctor, do so. NOBODY should have to experience what I did.
