Dr. Shapur Ameri, MD

Dr. Ameri is a phenomenal surgeon. I had neck surgery (car accident) and was in agony. He was very informative and kind. I had the surgery in 2009 and have not had pain since!! Thank you Dr. Ameri!!!

"So far so good!" The staff was great, Dr was very nice! I had a bad experience with another local Neurosurgeon and Ameri and his staff made me feel welcome. Have not had the surgery yet but, "So far so Good!"

My dad suffered a spinal compression fracture and was in pain when he consulted Dr. Ameri. , who took time and care to treat my father well. Three years later, my dad is 78 years old and working full time without back problems! Dr. Ameri was conservative in all his treatment. We are grateful for Dr. Ameri's fine care. He is known to put patients first and does superb work.

Dr. Ameri has operated on me twice for ruptured discs and sciatica. Pain was gone in the recovery room, both times. Dr. Ameri talked to my wife before and after the surgery. He is an outstanding neurosurgeon. If you're in pain he will expedite your treatment. He will not take you on as your private doctor, he is a specialist and will do whatever it takes to relieve your pain. He offered to take me on a Saturday because he didn't want me to suffer further.

This has been the worse doctor by far that I have ever been treated by in my life time. His bed side manner is horrible, he is rude, and careless. His staff is rude as well and have no manners when it come to patient care. Beware of a girl named Courtney she has the worse type of attitude a person can have. All this practice cares about is money.

Dr Ameri performed a microdiscectomy on my lower back several years ago and I had excellent results. I have returned for pain in different lumbar discs requiring injections. He is always upfront, explains all options, is clear and has a kind manner. A choice was given to go to BMC or Framingham where he practices at both places. I highly recomend him.

Dr. Ameri has performed a total of three Spinal Discectomies on me during the last 7 years and has saved my life ! My first disc problem came on suddenly resulting in paralysis of my left arm and he operated on Sunday to save my arm and my life ! The second bad disc showed on MRI before becomming life threatening and again four years later Dr. Ameri repaired the problem flawlessly. My third disc began showing serious symptoms a few months ago so my Insurance company made me see another Surgeon for a second opinion. The second doctor wanted to replace all of my remaining cervical discs with hardware which would have left me a mess and a long recovery.Dr. Ameri fixed the problem with one surgery and I was back on my feet again the next day with only a 2 week recovery period !!Dr. Ameri is the best Surgeon I have ever met and a great man ! Dr Ameri has earned my highest recomendation !!!!

Dr. Ameri has performed microdiscectomy on me twice, once to cure severe sciatica and once to alleviate tingling in my foot after a back injury. Both procedures were successful. The sciatica was gone in post-op and after the second procedure, the tingling is dissipating. Recovery time for both procedures was only a few days. While waiting for the second procedure, he actually called me on a Saturday to check on my pain level. If you have back pain, by all means see this doctor and do let him operate, he's the best!
