Dr. Sharlene Patricia Johnson, MD

Everything I have learned about mental health has come from researching Dr. Johnson's incorrect, misinformed, and downright offensive opinions regarding mental health. For starter, she believes that everyone in the world has low self esteem. And if you don't believe that, she'll try to do the whole arrogant nerdy adult bit where she'll get you in a verbal game of stop hitting yourself until you accept her beliefs as fact. She also has a habit of pushing psychiatrists and medications on patients that simply need someone to listen to them and work through their issues. Of course, this is out of her ballpark, because Dr. Johnson is one of the worst listeners on the planet and seems to be more focused on conditioning her clients to be compliant instead of happy. Do yourself a favor, do some research, and find a much more caring and helpful psychologist instead.

Dr. Johnson was my first child psychologist in 1991, she started off "nice" but as a child I was still very guarded, we started off playing board games and I was still iffy because it didn't seem genuine, it didn't seem that way because she still felt intimidating, the first 2 sessions my mom was there and that was the parent who caused me trouble all of my life, after the sessions started with just me and because of me not being speaking during sessions that were an "hour long" do to a new environment i sensed wasn't right, I asked to play a game and Dr. Johnson explains to me (at 6 years old) " since you can't talk during therapy sessions ,no more games" Which now at age 32 I know that a child psychologist should ask "inviting questions" example* "why do you feel shy" or try to play a game and have a conversation leading into why I appear so introverted (Which I was a very social child ,until going into her office ,or being around my mother,) later on in sessions Dr.Johnson would… rarely bring my mom in the office but she would always leave to consult my mother, and my father who's a wonderful parent who meet Dr Johnson only twice at that time in 1991, my father was told by Dr.Johnson herself that I had emotional deficient, Adhd, and she gave my mother her business card and on the back of the card it's numbers to 3 psychiatrist, was put on meds at 6, I wasn't ADHD it's called being a child who needs recreation while my dad was always at work, providing for our family, which lead to adult years of depression,anxiety and PTSD, that is all going away without meds and now stable, I just got away from my mom and thoughts of meds, when you start children on meds or encourage it it leads to not having faith in yourself "independence or it could possibly lead to drug addiction" THANK THE LORD I'VE BEEN JUST FINE .
