Dr. Sharna Brooks Shachar, MD

Made an appointment to interview the doctor as a new patient. Office staff told me "the doctor doesn't do interviews; she's too busy." I don't know why this wasn't told to me on the phone when I made the appointment specifically to interview her. If you don't do new patient interviews, you're not accepting new patients. Don't tell insurance companies you are. You don't get to become someone's doctor just because you have an MD after your name - they need to figure out if you're a good fit for them. She clearly doesn't want informed patients. That doesn't bode well for being able to make informed healthcare decisions with her.

Dr. Shachar had been pur mom's doctor for years and has even seen us. Our mom who has a serious health condition was told by her staff to find another doctor, that the doctor was no longer interested in seeing her.

Dr. Shachar makes you a partner in decisions about your care. Based on personal experiences that seems to be a rare trait among physicians these days. She stands apart.

Dr. Schacar is an amazing doctor. She really listens to you and works with you to develop a plan of care. I was recently diagnosed with a rare disease. If it was not for her, I would have never found out the reason for my symptoms.I have been seeing her for years, and I know that I may be a very difficult patient with multiple diagnosis, but she shows me that she genuinely cares. I highly recommend her for anyone who is lookinh for a compassionate and knowledgeable physician.

Dr shachar is great. I have overheard the office staff "discussing" patients, which makes me wonder what they are saying about me when I leave.
