Dr. Sharon Baik

Sharon Baik, Ph.D., has joined City of Hope® as assistant professor in the Department of Supportive Care Medicine. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology jointly from San Diego State University and University of California San Diego. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.Dr. Baik's research interests focus on improving the health-related quality of life of cancer survivors, with a particular emphasis on medically underserved populations. “I am passionate about improving the lives of those impacted by cancer and reducing cancer health disparities among medically underserved populations, as well as providing patient-centered, psychosocial care throughout the cancer experience,” she says.She has studied using smartphone interventions to improve the health of cancer patients and survivors, as well as the use of web-based programs to improve adherence to treatment protocols and help manage side effects.
