Dr. Sharon Eltz, MD

OUTRAGEOUS. Dr. Eltz refuses to prescribe birth control pills. I'm an LGH patient. I tried to get an appointment with Dr Eltz since she's the only female physician at this clinic near my home. I was told if I need birth control pills I would have to be shuffled to one of the male doctors there since she refuses to prescribe them due to her religious beliefs. Many women aren't comfortable with male doctors for this type of care. I'm appalled that a doctor would put her own feelings and needs above patient care. LGH/Penn Medicine receives public funding and as a taxpayer and patient I feel she should go into private practice and give the slot to another doctor who will be a resource for women in the community. Patients shouldn't be inconvenienced. She's the one with the issue with this basic care. I went into this Penn Medicine clinic thinking it would be a modern top notch facility but it felt like it's 1849.

I have received excellent care from Dr. Eltz, as has my husband. She is very professional, and thorough in her assessments, takes time during a visit, and follows up conscientiously.

The office staff is professional. The waiting area is well appointed and clean. The examination rooms are comfortable. Dr. Eltz seems very caring. She takes the time to review all of your health conditions to develop an overall view of your health.

Dr. Eltz is a very caring doctor. I had a 15 minute appointment which was not long enough. We jointly decided that I should see her again at her last appointment of the day so that she would have as much time as needed. She really cares.

Excellent caring doctor who listens and really wants to help. I recommend her highly!
