Dr. Daly's focus does NOT include anything related visual developmental therapy or behavioral vision care so her evaluation of my son's eye problems were considered pathological and required a specialist whom also found him healthy. Her response to me about my son's problem was rude. My son's problem continued to be undiagnosed until recently when his teacher gave me the name of an optometrist who does vision therapy. Not only did he NEED glasses for near and far sightedness (Daly said he can wait)but needs vision therapy.

Dr. Spooner diagnosed and successfully treated my 6 year old kindergarten age son for severe amblyopia in his left eye. She was able to successfully treat him over the course of four years and she provided an alternate treatment other than having my son wear a potentially embarrassing patch over one eye for the . She successfully brought his nearly blind amblyopic left eye to app 20/20 through the course of treatment. Dr. Spooner is knowledgeable, conscientious, diligent, kind, attentive, talented, modest, personable, and able to explain complex ocular conditions in a way a lay person can understand. She has a wonderful calming way of working with young children so that they are not frightened and they maintain good concentration throughout the visit, which can be difficult for a young child. My son, now 16, continues to see her for annual follow-ups to ensure both eyes remain in optimal condition, given the many physical changes that occur in adolescence. His ocular acuity continues… to vary, though both eyes remain within normal limits, and Dr. Spooner shows the same care today that she did 10 years ago. Her commitment and conscientiousness are superior. Her prices are reasonable given her expertise, and the time she takes with her patients. She always ensures she has enough time to "check in" with the patient, give the patient adequate time for exam and treatment, and complete the appointment with finesse and accurate encouragement. Dr. Spooner has never lost sight of her commitment to excellence, her dedication to her field, and her kindness. Dr. Spooner was able to take away my son's fear and embarrasment during those initial uncertain years until his eye improved to normal while under her care; She never gave false hope; and she left both the young patient and his parents with a feeling of being respected, heard, and appreciated. Her front office works efficiently and calmly. Dr. Spooner is a gift to her profession.

I brought my child to Dr. Spooner because we had fears that he needed to start wearing glasses. He is usually scared of doctors and has been difficult even with his own babysitter. However, Dr. Spooner seemed to have the right touch! The cartoons she intermittently played while she examined him calmed him down and actually got him to open up to her. He didn't cry, and I'm very happy to say Dr. Spooner is now John's permanent eye doctor.
