Summary
I was born and raised in Riverside. According to my father, I was about 9 when I told him and my mother that I wanted to be a pediatrician. I have always enjoyed science and helping people. I can remember one day when my mother, a registered nurse, brought home a preserved umbilical cord in a small bottle. She explained how the umbilical cord nourishes a baby during development. While in high school, I wanted to learn more about what it was like to work with patients, so I served as a hospital volunteer for two years (serving over 215 hours). The experience was very rewarding. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family and friends and attend the theatre.
