Grateful for dr.chowdhari!

I have been seeing Dr. Chowdhari for quite a while and recently was taken aback when I was told I couldn’t get my normal next appointment because there were none available. I have never known this office to not line up another patient for Chowdhari. If you’ve been there you know the wait is often an hour and a half to two hours. So I became a bit suspicious and I drove by the place today at 3 PM and noticed that the gate was partially closed and that there were no cars in the parking lot including Chowdhari‘s. I know that he was investigated a while back from being part of the Pain cream scam that was well documented on 60 minutes and he often prescribed medicines that you don’t need or don’t want because he fills them out of his own pharmacy and then bills your insurance or the government. I wonder what’s going on. The office staff is as rude as usual and they will not acknowledge anything. If you call they will act like everything is going on normal. Unfortunately I’m sure at one… time he was a very good physician but after he donated $1 million to USF So his sons name could be listed as being on the golf team when the kid never played a match is indicative of a doc past his prime but only interested in the dime.

Dr. Chowdhari has good days and bad days just like the rest of us. I tell the nurse if there is a change and they address it with Dr Chowdhari confirming the new change with me. I have been with DR. Chowdhari for years now. Yes, the wait is long. But would you deal with pain for 24/7 or a few hrs to get relief? I choose relief.

Terrible doctor. poor business practices especially in obtaining authorizations. he doesn't even call you if an authorization doesn't go through. You just show up for your appointment and find out that they haven't even attempted to get the authorization. Dr Chowdhari yelled at me that that's the way we do business and get out of here or I'll call the police. well I'm going to call the division of consumer finance and insurance, better business bureau, Florida board of medicine and maybe even the IRS.

If you can find another Dr for pain, get going, i know dr benni, is a great dr and cares about his patients, i was only here for a test for a pain pump, i dont need him even for that, after 4 or 5 of these crappy appts of sitting around like we dont have a life , well I do and I had anuff and told him so and everyone in the waiting room.this Dr sucks, found someone else

Doctor had the audacity to brag about his big mansion on Neal Dr after making me wait over 3 hours to be seen!!!! Very rude and unprofessional, totally lacks compassion for anyone, then later I find out that he was billing me and the insurance telling me that these were my co-pays when insurance covered 100%!!!!! This man should be behind bars he is a crook!!!

Office is in disarray. Hours waiting in chaos.

First time I was here, I waited 4 HOURS to see him. When he DID see me, he didn't talk to ME- he talked to the nurse. Treated me like I was a drug addict looking for my fix. Pressed on my back without lifting shirt up to see scar he was pressing on- I was in pain for two weeks afterward. Since this scumbag is the only person within 50 miles who takes my insurance, I have to see him or live with my pain. This money-grubbing basted won't even let me cancel without charging my insurance company 50 bucks. No wonder health care costs have become outrageous.Don't go here unless you want to be treated like a non-entity with an addiction problem.

Dr. Chowdhari is a very caring physician. He is very funny and always wants to help. He is the only doctor in his office so wait times are longer than usual, but when you are in pain it is worth it. He even except insurances that most doctors wouldn't dare accept because they pay too little. He is not in it for the money. He truly helps people. People who's only interest is getting narcotics will not be helped.

Unless you are a patient of color...RUN! The staff treated every white patient with complete disrespect. We have NEVER experienced this type of blatant racism in a physician's office. If you are looking for quality treatment..keep looking. He prides himself on being one of the few pm doctors that accepts Medicaid but, let me assure you, it's not to help the patient; it's to help pad his pocket. We were completely insulted by the treatment we received.
