Dr. Shaun Alexander Hussain, MD

I told Dr. S.A. Hussein not to give my son an mri. He was told this verbally and in writing. My son went to the test anyway. My son died because of this test according to his normal physician who verbally told me this. My instructions should have been followed. My son was scheduled for this test for 5 days or so. In my opinion if Dr. Hussein thought he really needed the test he would have given it to him from the beginning. Ask a lot of questions if you decide to go to him and perhaps get a second opinion. It is awful to watch your son end up brain dead and have to turn off the machine to end his life.

Dr. Hussain has excellent bedside manner, and is very good with children. (Even three year olds who don't like getting their ears looked at.) Very good post-appointment care, and Dr. Hussain responds to emails/telephone calls. Very helpful for parents of pediatric patients.

Just what we needed. He is a great, compassionate doctor.

He is the best

We have had to see many different Dr.'s for our son and by accident came across meeting Dr. Hussain. I was skeptical at first because of so many bad experiences with pediatric epilepsy specialists. Dr. Hussain, from the minute I met him treated us like we should have been all along...like we were important. He asked me what I was looking to accomplish and get out of UCLA for our son. No one ever asked us what we expected to accomplish. It has only been a few months that we have been dealing with him. However he returns all e-mails and will call you if needed. He spends a great deal of time talking with you if needed and again makes you feel very important to him. We are very lucky to have come across him and look forward to working with him to help find relief for our son. In addition, Dr. Hussain works with a wonderful, helpful, kind and compassionate team with the ketogenic diet program at UCLA. You really can't be in better hands.
