Dr. Shawn Annette Holcomb, DO

Correctly and timely diagnosed cause of lower back pain and numbness in leg, promptly ordered up MRI and referred me to Orthopedic specialist. She also has helped me maintain my low thyroid issues according to my body's response to medication (really listening to me and my concerns) rather than being "just a number". I have very much enjoyed having her as my doctor!

I was seen by Dr. Holcomb at the urgent care clinic on New Hope Rd. My chief complain was recorded completely wrong and my medications were recorded wrong as well. My chief complaint was a panic attack. In the records there is no mention of a panic attack. It says headache. I have a history of panic attacks for a 6 week period about 3 years ago so I knew exactly what I was experiencing. I waited in the waiting area over an hour to be seen. By the time I got to the exam room, I was feeling better but still experiencing symptoms of the attack. Dr. Holcomb was very short with me at my visit and I felt as if she was treating me like a "drug seeker." I was told she doesn't prescribe "that kind of medication to anyone" when I told her I had been given a medication previously to stop my panic attack at its onset. She said she couldn't help me if that's what I wanted and I would need to see my PCP for treatment. I would've done that had he been in town however he was on vacation. His office… directed me to the urgent care for treatment in his absence. She did prescribe an anxiety medication and the pharmacist told me the medication would not help my panic attacks. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a doctors appointment. Thank God I was able to see my PCP the following day and get proper care. I will never go back to the urgent care for treatment of any kind. I would also warn anyone about seeing Dr. Holcomb if I was asked about her.

She did everything I asked. She gave me accurate information which allowed me to make the right choices. I will definitely make her my primary doctor. Very open and friendly. I would recommend her to a friend.

One of the worst. Lied to my face or is just ignorant of medical facts. Types thru entire visit, then walks out without doing much of anything you just spent telling her about. Stay away and find a real doctor, or go see her and waste your time and money. The staff is nice though.
