Dr. Shawn Steven Moyer, MD

Prior to Dr. Moyer moving to Greensprings Medical I saw him in Rossville for a checkup which has been less than a year since he closed his office in Wellsville in the middle of the 2018 summer. My pharmacy contacted me several weeks ago asking if I would like them to contact Dr. Moyer about a 90 day supply of my blood pressure medication instead of the 30 day script I had. Long story short, he refused ANY refill although I have been his patient for years and have had the same meds all along. After repeated faxes from the pharmacy and a call from me because I did not know why it was not filled I was told I had to set up an appointment with him and that he would refill it. I made the appointment and in the meantime waited to get the refill as promised only to find out he still refused to refill it. At that point which occurred over approx. a two week period I had run out of medication. It is my understanding that blood pressure meds should not be stopped. Now, I did NOT know ahead of… this that he required me to make an appointment but as soon as I found out from calling Greensprings Medical I did make the required appointment. Obviously if Dr. Moyer was concerned about patient health he would have issued enough capsules until my scheduled appointment to tide me over but that has not been the case. I have been without any blood pressure meds for about three weeks now. Needless to say my blood pressure is very high on a daily basis while I am waiting to see a doctor. It is clear Dr. Moyer does NOT care about his patients well being. I have since found a new doctor. My recommendation is to find a doctor that puts a patients well being first and foremost.
