Always accommodating! With previous doctors /medical staff I felt pushed away from seeking referrals or additional help but with him he always takes time to listen and referral out when needed.

Shawn has cared for me over the last few years and continues to amaze me. His thoroughness and dedication to patient care stand out to me, making a significant difference in my treatment. It genuinely concerns me to see some negative ratings here, as they often stem from individuals sharing only a partial narrative, typically to discredit others. It's evident that some previous patients may have hidden agendas. I appreciate Shawn's commitment to not simply conforming to the standard practice of prescribing without careful consideration of the risks involved. His thorough approach has been refreshing, and I hope my experience encourages others to see the value in his care.

Was super rude and wasted my time. Didn’t listen to a word i had to say, told me i was arguing because i had questions. Got hung up on a medication that im not even taking at this time and why we needed labs before he could fill prescriptions im actually taking. Had the audacity to ask if i “just needed to see a woman doctor.” Then refused to do labs while i was there because i took too much of his time having to explain things to me. Then told the front desk to essentially schedule me with someone else because he didn’t want to deal with me. I’ve been going to this office for 15 years and I’m highly disappointed in the quality of care i received from this guy. Refused to fill my prescriptions even though that was the entire point of the visit and sent them back to my old doctor for her to refill. He was arrogant, condescending, and in general made me want to entirely leave this practice.

I actually saw him at one of his other offices. He was very condescending and rude to me! As a new patient there was some confusion about a medication that I was taking. Even though I had gone over all my medications with his assistant and him in detail on two previous visits, his rationale for not refilling it was not fair, in my opinion as a retired RN of almost 30 years. He even told me to get the other doctor that prescribed the medication to refill it. Only problem is that doctor is on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He hung up on me after telling me to stop interrupting him! I was trying to get him to understand the issue that the pharmacy was having. In my opinion, I will seek another provider because, Shawn is not worth the aggravation. I have reported this to the Office Manager at the Glenn Forest office.
