Shawn J. Stafford

It's been about 2 years since we last saw Dr Stafford but I can't say enough great things about him. My daughter was 1 when she swallowed a battery and Dr Stafford removed it. She continued to have problems that ended up being unrelated to the battery incident. Dr Stafford was the only one who found that she had an esophageal web, and the type she had was extremely rare. Although it was a long process to get to the actual surgery that had more to do with getting her health under control and strong enough for surgery. His bedside manner is amazing. He was patient with me and all my questions and concerns. Explained everything in a way I was able to understand. and the scars on my daughter are virtually impossible to see unless you know where to look and look closely. I could go on and on, he was amazing. They knew us by name and really were concerned about my daughter and our family.

My son was admitted to TMC for emergency surgery. Dr. Stafford met us in Pre-Op and was amazing. His bedside manner with children is wonderful. He took the time even under stress and an emergency situation to talk to my son and explain the procedure to all of us. He took the time to calm my son prior to surgery and afterwards immediately came out of surgery to tell us how he was doing. He checked on my son while in the hospital and personally handed us a card to make a follow up appointment. I work for an alternate hospital in Tucson however I'm so very please and elated that we were blessed to have Dr. Stafford care for my son at TMC. Staff was amazing all around and my son is doing just fine. :)
