Dr. Shawn Louise Willson

I trust very few people and she is one of them. She is very down to earth, kind, smart and genuinely wants to help. I am very thankful for her!

She was my doctor for 8 months and moved with a months notice to another state! Luckily I was no longer in need of her services but felt bad for her other patients who may have been relying on her more heavily. Judging by the reviews she moves a lot. Don’t get invested long term.

I was seeing this doctor who has somehow changed her name from Wilson to Willson for several months in Asheville NC. I showed up to my appointment, only to be seen by a new doctor. "Dr. Wilson has moved to Colorado." I was shocked. I was finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and had to start over. I am angered and disappointed that she has no regard for her patients. It shows me how little I meant to her. Good luck to her patients in Colorado. Don't get too attached.

I was so shamed about my Heroin addiction. Dr. Willson showed me respect and compassion. She offered me a comprehensive treatment plan, including Suboxone, that I continue to follow. I am getting better. Dr. Willson is brilliant. If you are addicted to something go see her. She did her training at Harvard. Lucky us.

It was a 40 minute drive to her new location. Then this past year, 2017, she moved from Kansas to North Carolina with only a few weeks notice and provided poor medical records, leaving her patients high and dry. Continuity of care is critical with psychiatric care and this is apparently not her strong suit. . I stayed with her because it is hard to get appointments with psychiatrists. I have been to many doctors over the years to help me identify my disorder but, Dr. Willson stayed with me continually until we collectively got the right doses and medications that works for me. I cannot say enough good things about her except that she is a very empathic, dedicated, and a tremendous person and doctor.

Shouldn't be allowed to treat women because she has huge boundary issues. Is in private practice because she was counseled many times for overstepping professional boundaries at the last hospital where she practiced. One day, she didn't show up for any appointments and I was not contacted.

Absolutely terrible! Lied about long-term effects and withdrawal of medication prescribed and has not done her research clearly. Does not follow up on patients she is prescribing a very serious medication and does not return emergent phone calls in a timely manner.

She helped us through family differences about mental illness in our daughter. Our daughter has made such positive changes in her life. We cannot thank Dr Wilson enough!

Dr. Willson is an excellent Psychiatrist. My adult son and I have been her patients for around 4 years. She takes the time to really listen to what is going on in her patients lives. Was able to diagnosis my son within 45 minutes accurately. Has worked to insure that our Medications are kept current and accurate, she will tweak them until they are correct.
