Dr. Shawn Ilsha Yunayev, MD

If I could give Dr. Yunayev zero stars, I would. He has to be the rudest doctor I have ever encountered in my 39years of living. He is horribly disrespectful, condescending, & egotistical. Any questions that are asked, are met with snide comments and an extremely arrogant air. Patients go to doctors in a very vulnerable state sometimes. We want to feel comfortable with who's hands we put our health in. Not just from a standpoint of knowing what they are doing medically, but also have at least a slight bit of compassion. Dr. Yunayev lacks an human emotions besides arrogance. I wouldn't recommend him to an enemy. DO NOT go to him unless you want to be belittled & leave feeling absolutely horrible and uncomfortable. How this man is still in practice is beyond me.

I usually do not like to write reviews about doctors offices but I'm hoping to help someone who is looking for an Ob during their pregnancy. RUN! Pros: -Most of the office staff is kind! -The wait time depends on what day and the time that you are in the office My reason for one star is due to the fact that he dropped me from his services at 28 weeks pregnant. Most normal doctors' offices have called me with results of a test and were able to answer any questions I had without a problem. I got a call from Dr. Yunayev while I was at work. He became frustrated when I had questions that I had about my health and the results of the test. A test came back abnormal and he requested that I come into the office at two specific times which I was unable to make due to me having another appointment that he already requested that I go to on one of those days. He wasn't willing to work with my schedule for me to come into the office at a later time on those same days. When I asked what… I this new needed appointment was for, he responded with everything that DID NOT require me going into the office. He got very nasty over the phone stating that he didn't care that I had to work, that I couldn't meet his request and then ends the conversation saying that "I don't need to deal with this, I don't have patients that are high risk". He also said that I need to follow the rules. Just a very unnecessary response that I wasn't expecting. At the end of the confusion from this conversation, the office called back saying they called in prescriptions and gave instructions over the phone......exactly what they could've done from the beginning. Conclusion: At no point was I not cooperative with the prenatal care that this office provided. I made every appointment as they requested but me questioning an appointment that was obviously unnecessary caused Dr. Yunayev to show his true colors. At this point I'm happy to find a new Ob because I wouldn't have been comfortable returning to his office after this conversation. If you have no career or a job, this is the place for you. Otherwise, don't waste your time because they lack the compassion to deal with pregnant working women.

Office: Clean Doctor: knowledgeable Staff: I've visited this office on more than one occasion and it seems as I continued going to this office the quality of the staff deteriorated. On my second to last visit of actually being in the office I had testing done for the HPV virus. Weeks later I was called and informed that I needed to come in for a follow up appointment so I took the day off from work (losing a day's pay) and went into the office. Once there two patients who arrived after me were called. Once I realized I went to the front desk and asked why wasn't I called. I was given an apology and called next. Once I went into the exam room. A young lady asked the basic questions of my last menstrual cycle and why I was here. I told her the staff called saying I needed to come in for another appointment. She excused herself to go check on that and came back with a blank face stating that I did not need an appointment that there was nothing to be done. I got dressed and left the… office upset. The staff called me 5 minutes later to ask what the issue was and when I explained I was given another apology. Now after some time has passed I'm having issues so I scheduled an appointment to return to the office for an exam. I was called by his staff who informed me that the doctor would not be in the office for the day that I scheduled the appointment. I rescheduled to the following day. Within a couple minutes Victoria called me stating "after your last visit at the doctors we feel it's best you go somewhere else" I was confused especially since the last incident that occurred was at the fault of his staff. I requested she explain the situation to me and she kept repeating the same excuse. I then asked her who was we and she said Dr. Yunayev as well as the staff. So I requested to speak to the doctor. I mean who wouldn't want to understand why they are being banned from an establishment for something they weren't at fault for. Victoria informed me that the doctor was not in the office but she will "let him know" . I then asked her to clarify what exactly she will let the doctor know...whether it was that I requested he call me or that she was banning me from his office. Instead of continuing the conversation with me she hung the phone up in my ear. And let me tell you when I say hung the phone up...I truly mean HUNG IT UP . Directly in my ear. My advice stay clear of This office . Next Victoria might be slamming doors in your face. The staff obviously has no regard to human respect

Dr Yunayev has good qualities that makes him well liked. I had a very bad birth story so I won't post it to scare other expecting mothers. I could say that with the horror story I had I still like him and kept him as my doctor. He is funny, he is honest, he is understanding.

Dr. Yunayev is definitely the doctor you want to see if you want the best. He is compassionate and I truly feel that he cares for his patients. He takes his time on explaining options and fully informs you of any concerns (very thorough). He is a young modern doctor who makes you feel very comfortable. These are great qualities on top of his medical expertise. The office is clean, friendly and professional. (Veterans ave). I have no complaints at all. From, OBGYN Patient

let me just start by saying this is my first baby so of course I am super paranoid about everything...I searched forever trying to find doctor who had good reviews and when I found this one I was relieved..or so I had thought.....now I am about 14 weeks along and had to hold off making an apt bcuz of issues with my insurance...two days befor my apt with him his office calls me to tell me that they WILL NOT see me bcuz I am over 13 weeks...I am absolutyyy discusted!! never in my life have I heard of such a thing ..how aweful to call a patient 2 days befor their apt to tell them that u will not see them bcuz they are "to pregnant" UNBELIVABLE your an obgyn isn't that ur job?? you should be ashameddd!!!! I strongly recommend your find a doctor that isn't so heartless its clear he doesn't give a crap about mine or my babys health

i went to this doctor because he was close by and a new facility..the doctor i saw yunayev showed less interest in my health. he kept checking his phone and replying to measages while i asked my questions. his answers were very short and i had to ask again and again. then i got pregnant and wanted to give them one more shot. i made my appt to confirm my pregnancy.. i go in they tell me oh doctor is not here so we can do a urine test and blood work (which would come back after 3 days) DISAPPOINTEDDDD.. urine test i did at home also so big FAIL to go to them that day.. i couldnt find an appt with another doctor so decided to do my sonography there too..that appt, i get treated like garbage by the nurse.. as soon as i get in the room for my sonography (yes doctor still not able to see me) nurse tells me to hurry up and undress because i was her last patient..she ofcourse unable to answer my questions, shows me attitude and rushes me..i come outside and am told doctor cant be seen and need… to make another appt..i was soooo upset since i had so many questions and even my secnd visit was a FAIL..NEVER GOING BACK

I have no concerns about this doctor even though i am a strict reviewer sometimes. The location is very convenient for me and the Gyn does his job right. The staff show respect despite the volume of patients. Would recommend.
