Shawna L Kauffman, MD

Dr. Shawna Kaufman has been my primary care physician for about 2 years now. She is one of the best family care providers I've ever had! She is exceptional on so many levels -- an outstanding intellect, deep compassion and caring, an ability to listen closely and collaborate on treatment strategies, and a disarming wit and pleasantness that makes going to the doctor's office easy. I feel like Dr. Kaufman treats the "whole person" and not just a series of symptoms, whether it's the flu, a bout of mild depression or an annual physical exam. She has an uncanny ability to ask the right questions so that she and the patient can explore details behind the symptoms presented. I never feel rushed in her presence, as though she's checking her watch and hurrying to get on to the next patient. I feel like I have her full attention when she is with me. She is smart, cheerful, and can-do in her approach to working with patients, and I always feel better after leaving her office because I… have a treatment plan and a lot of encouragement. I recommend Dr. Kaufman VERY highly for anyone who is looking for a new primary care physician.

I felt very comfortable with Dr. Kauffman. She was straightforward with me and gave the impression that she really cared about me as a person rather than a " patient ".

She always takes time to listen and explain. She will present a care plan and ensure that you are comfortable with how she wants to treat you. Never rushed. All around great doctor!
