Dr. Shazia Tayyab, MD

I wish there was zero! Most unprofessional office I have ever brought my son into they would not even see him because we did not have paperwork filled out which we did, twice. They took pharmaceutical sales reps over our appointment.

Dr. Tayyab is not have a warm and fuzzy personality. She will be honest and straight forward with you. She does not hold medication from her patients. She gave me enough medication to hold me to my next appointment because I had missed my appointment. I want a doctor who prescribes the control substances to know what she/he is doing. Being warm and fuzzy in not necessary with the liability she has. I highly recommend her.

I felt she only wanted to continue with the current flow of meds. Her demeanor was extremely cold and clinical. My daughter learned to give her just the absolute basic and shortest explanations to any questions she asked. Because any time she tried to expound on something Dr. Tayyab would shut her down. She only wanted a yes or no answer. If your a parent of a pre-teen or teen be aware that this Doctor will talk to your child alone for 10 minutes then bring you in and speak to you in front of your child for 5 minutes. And for that 5 minutes not once making eye contact with you. Seriously people there really are Doctors of Psychiatry who truly engaged with their patients, please look for them, Dr. Tayyab isn't one of them. If I had the resources you have I would have looked further.

I used to love Dr Shazia Tayyab, but I have since found out that she is all about the money or I guess not about the money. I was a patient of hers for over 3 years and stopped seeing her in 2014. The only reason I left was because of insurance. I lost my insurance at the end of 2017, and have been without medicine for over 9 months, and i called to see if she would see me and I would pay on my credit card in full when I see her. Donna at the office, who was nice on the phone, told me Dr. Tayyab was not taking "new" patients at the time and I was dumbfounded that she referred me to another clinic in Vernon Hills. I guess my mental illness is not that important to them and my money isn't good to them. Also, I am not a new patient, i would have been a former patients that had a 3 year relationship with and had always paid my copay. Dr. Tayyab is all about the money. To schedule a 5 minute appointment with her is 110 dollars, and the first 15 minute visit is 275 dollars. so just to… put that into perspective she vales herself at 1100 to 1300 an hour. Go to another office, because Dr. Tayyab and counseling connections do not value your business, they just want another target to charge insurance.

Worst experience I’ve ever had with any kind of doctor. When I couldn’t schedule my next appt with her for 3 weeks due to HER schedule, she refused to authorize a refill on my prescription, causing me to go off cold turkey. I’ve never felt worse in my life. Unprofessional and extremely dangerous “doctor.”

Excellent Physician. My child has been per patient for 5 years and she is concerned about his well being and his educational opportunities. I would highly recommond her and her staff.

My daughter has been seeing this doctor for over a year now. I have not been impressed by her demeanor or her diagnostic abilities. Her schedule is inflexible and her staff is not good about appointment reminders. In fact if you miss appointments the Dr. will not refill meds. A dangerous practice in my opinion. How many teenage psych patients seek antidepressant meds?

Staff is uncaring and rude. Not about the patient's well being, only about collecting money. Uncooperative.
