Dr. Shehzad Mehboob Topiwala, MD

I wish I could give zero stars. I have never experienced such unprofessional treatment from a physician. Dr. Naidu was an outstanding doctor, and I was saddened when he retired. Unfortunately, my experience with his replacement, Dr. Topiwala, has been extremely disappointing. He orders countless tests—sometimes without any discussion of the costs. Many of these aren’t covered by insurance, so you only discover at your next appointment that you owe hundreds of dollars. He also insists patients use the “portal,” yet when you actually do and ask questions, he eventually claims you’ve exceeded some unspoken limit. Then, instead of helping, he bans you from the portal and kicks you out as a patient altogether. Well, I’ve been dismissed from far better places. I was already ready to leave, and I will not look back. I will make sure to share my experience with everyone I know. A physician should build trust, communicate openly, and partner with patients in their health care.… Unfortunately, I found Dr. Topiwala to be dismissive, inflexible, and unwilling to establish a genuine patient-doctor relationship. I would strongly caution others to consider these concerns before seeking care here.

Think twice about coming to him. Horrible doctor, messed up my insulin regimen and ended up having a DKA

What a crap doctor he is. hes only interested to loot people. Complete showoff business DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE.

My father was scheduled for a pancreactectomy(very serious surgery) Before the surgery, he was told to get established with an endocrinologist, which he did. Dr. Topiwala accepted him as a new patient, everything seemed alright, until after the surgery(10 days later) was told by the office that Dr Topiwala was no longer there and moved to Daytona Beach. He took my father on as a new patient, knowing that he would be moving in 3 weeks according to his office. He never notified us that he was leaving, and left my father high and dry to find a new endocrinologist. A caring doctor would not do this to their patients.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression and that is very true in this case as I do not see myself returning. I was not called in to see the doctor until over an hour after my scheduled appointment time. The office staff never addressed the waiting patients to explain the delays or anything. When I finally saw the doctor he spent maybe 10 minutes with me. Then while in the common hallway, almost as an after thought, asked me about my periods, etc. Maybe it was an off day for the office as a whole, and perhaps unfair of me to judge, but I certainly felt like just another number on a list rather than a patient who needs care. It felt like an assembly line that got backed up.

Dr. Topiwala may be OK, but the billing and records staff make me not want to go to him anymore. They don't care about the health or life of the patient as much as they care about money. The bill wrong and won't respond to requests to investigate error. I carried in original test results in advance for my appointment and the doctor never got them on time and they couldn't find them. They want expensive tests paid in advance even if cancer is suspected. Codes to insurance companies were sent in error the only two years I was with this office.

Dr.Topi is a very kind man. My time with him is always stress free,he treats me for Addison's Disease.

Topi is a wonderful and caring man, with exceptional insight.
