Dr. Sheila Lynne Eswaran, MD

Dr. Eswaran is knowledgeable with regards to hepatology but her bedside manner is horrible. I explained to her that I did not have any of these issues until after treatment and she told me that it was because of my weight. Not appropriate or okay. IF you are overweight, just be mindful of the fact that she clearly is not kind to those that are.

Dr. Eswaran is an excellent doctor with an excellent bedside manner. She always takes the time to answer all my questions and always remembers everything about me.

Horrible bedside manner as noted. She was cold and indifferent. Her attitude might be acceptable if she was a better doctor. Didn’t understand my situation, didn’t ask questions and never took the time to research it. A shame that Rush allies this.

I found her bedside manner a bit cold at first. My office visits have been nothing but wonderful. By far, much better than Dr Van Thiel who scared me so much that I didn't want to make follow up appointments. Dr Eswaran is a wonderful doctor, who gives it to you straight while being as compassionate as she can be.

Doctors, especially the best internists, are supposed to be nurturing, compassionate and personable. Unfortunately, Sheila is not a warm physician, and I agree with the other reviewer that as this comes off as arrogant, off-putting and matter of fact. If that's your personality, you may be compatible, however for most people I think her personality is not suited for caring for others.

Cold bedside manner. I did not feel comfortable around her at all.

I have just begun my care with Dr. Eswaran but she seems excellent. Highly knowledgeable, caring and sepnds time with you.

Dr. Eswaran was very cold and arrogant towards my elderly mother. She made it seem like she didn't care about my mother's health and that we were wasting her time. If you need a hepatologist, avoid this one at all cost
