Dr. Shereen Juhsun Chang, MD

After a very cursory, rushed, exam - this quickly Doctor turned me away saying I was fine. She was definitely out of sorts and disorganized by her first day in her new facility as well - or so I was told by Dr Chang. I came to this appointment for an EMG test for neuropathy. I got a very basic exam which is a rip-off. Without really asking me many questions or digging into the problem (which could be told by the test) she said you need to get another diagnosis from your GP you don’t need the needle test. When I followed up with Kim, her operations manager - I was told All PCI could do is give me another appointment (and that I would have to pay for Dr Chang’s billed office visit - because “she did the work” - the only one verifying the quality of work done is the Doctor doing subpar appointments). Beware. Chang does not put in the work.

I suffered from a recurring illness with mysterious symptoms. It wasn't clear what kind of doctor I should consult. When I visited dr. Chang, she insisted it had nothing to do with Neurology. However, when the mystery was resolved, the illness turned out to be due to the side effects of the neurological medication ropinirole. I feel she did not perform due diligence, and also that she disrespected me when I was in her office.

She didn't do anything. She walked in the room looked at me went "Hmm, you've had a headache for a month? you saw someone else 6 years ago? this medication didn't work then? let try it again... Oh you're on this medication...you're not on a high enough dose we're just going to up that." and sent me on my way. Didn't run any test or anything. Worst experience I have ever had with any doctor. I will never go back to her. If you need to see a neurologist do not see this one. She will not help you out at all. And I still have a headache.

The provider is pleasant enough and takes time with you, but is not really about coordination of care or thinking about patient. First, they won't even see you without referral from another provider, so cannot self-refer, even if your insurance allows. Then, treats one condition specifically referred for and because I ask to coordinate care for another related condition within Neuro specialty I had been seeing another doctor 100 miles away for, she tells me to go back to that doctor for other care, when could do in one visit locally. She sent staff in to set up injection appointment and I asked that person about coordinating care for additional injection and that person actually stated it was "illegal" for provider to see me for something I wasn't referred to them for by another provider. It doesn't matter that I actually have the condition and need the injection. And it is certainly not illegal for the provider to see me for a real, existing neurological condition that I have. … They were not interested in taking care of all of my injections, wanting me to continue to travel 100 miles out of town. I may as well go out of town for the injection Dr. Chang was going to provide and go back to other provider, so can get all the same care in single trip. and it seems this provider does not want and/or need the business. Definitely NOT about the patient and coordinated care! I was recently at my PCP and told them this story and all my PCP did was raise an eyebrow and say, really? You're kidding! Then asked me when my scheduled injection date was, typed into the computer and told me, NOW you do have a referral for your other condition so you don't have to keep travelling 100 miles out of town every three months. Convenient, patient-centered, coordinated care is what all the commercials say, but that is definitely NOT the case in my experience!

Refuses to diagnose or help in any way. Actually said I don't know what wrongwith you. You get better or you don't. No care.
