Dr. Sherifia Elaine Heron, MD

Highly recommend Dr. Heron in her work in behavioral health. Have seen her for almost a year and she has helped reduce my depression. She is the best doctor that I have worked with in Erie.

Dr. Heron is an excellent psychiatrist. I have been seeing her for 9 months. Makes herself readily available. Doctor runs an efficient office and is always prompt. She takes time to address my concerns and has prescribed an effective medication regime which is not sedating. Highly recommend.

Working in the healthcare, I know how patients should be treated. I also know how crazy busy it can be, which is why we gave them so many chances. The only good thing about this office was the counselor Courtney. Other then that all we've had was: unreturned phone calls, showing up to appointments and them saying he didn't have one (happened 3 times), office not being open yet for early appointments and waiting outside for someone to show up, Dr. showing up late multiple times, attitude from secretaries and Dr. many times, playing phone tag trying to get prescription issues resolved, and the final decision was made when I took my husband to the hospital and they said he was withdrawing from not having his medication for a week. And when he went in today for an appointment and asked about this, he was treated… like crap. Told that you can't withdrawl from antidepressants and that everyone was lying. It shouldn't of got to this point but it has. I had to keep calling everyone like crazy trying to get his prescription filled before he ran out and over a week later they finally told him he would need to make an appointment before they would fill the prescription. Why not just send a weeks worth until he came in to see them?!?! He's suffered for his whole life and finally is getting help and getting treated like this is not helping anything. I just can't fathom how people could treat patients like this, especially when your patient population suffer from mental disorders. He wants help.... I just don't understand, and it makes me very sad to think of all the other patients out there that have been treated like this as well.
