Dr. Shermian A Woodhouse, MD

I received radiation treatment from Dr. Shermian Woodhouse and her staff at Columbia this past year, following a lumpectomy for breast cancer. I have implants, which was a cause of concern for me with the radiation. Everything went brilliantly. While my breast became red and sore, as expected, I did not burn, nor were my skin and implant damaged or negatively impacted in any way. I can attribute my successful treatment to Dr. Woodhouse and her staff, who were the utmost in supportive, knowledgeable and caring in their attention to me and my treatment. Dr. Woodhouse gave me all the time I needed when she met with me for all consults and exams, to answer my questions and provide me with guidance and support through the process. I credit Dr. Woodhouse and her team with my excellent attitude during two months of daily treatment. FYI, I went to Columbia's 60th St. satellite for the radiation and bloodwork, which was so convenient,expeditious and civilized.

No other doctor explained my breast cancer issues to me the way she did. I felt like I really understood what was going on with my body and my treatments. I didn't expect a doctor to spend so much time with me. I didn't have to wait at all at her 60th Street office but once when I visited her office at the main campus I did have to wait. I felt like she listened to me during my time with her that I can't really complain too much that I had to wait.
