Dr. Sheryl Michele Cohen, MD

I've been taking all of my 3 kids to Dr. Cohen for their whole lives and we couldn't be happier with the care we receive. She is very savvy with her knowledge of how the body works and has always been able to answer my questions. She is a charming doctor and me and the kids have grown to love her. It was very convenient during pregnancy to have her within arms reach. After the kids came into the world, she was always there with a smile to greet and examine them. All of the doctors, including Dr. Cohen, at Northern Nevada Pediatrics have many years of experience under their belt and run a great practice with the friendliest staff. They are located in Renown but have no affiliation with them except for location. Waiting room is divided into two sections - Sick and Well child. Office is always clean and rooms are decorated with Disney themes. I love that after my appointments, I can go to the first floor and grab snacks and food (Starbucks, Subway, Yogurt… pops). Parking is never a problem (though sometimes just a little time will do the trick in the garage) and (friendly) valet is available for $3 most times. Check out the garden, gift shop, floral shop for fun and look for the playground located within Renown.

She has been our pediatrician for all 3 of my kids who are now grown! The youngest is 17 and fast approaching adulthood so we will be so sad when we cannot see Dr. Cohen anymore. She has always been very prompt, very thorough and never rushes us out despite how long we may need to discuss things or ask her questions. She is a gem! Your little ones are in great hands with her.

My family has been with Dr. Sheryl Cohen for close to fourteen years and have nothing but good things to say about her. She is knowledgeable, kind, and thorough in her assessment and diagnoses of her patients. Her commitment to her patients' health and wellbeing is commendable. She has continually gone above and beyond many pediatricians would to ensure our children, who we received both by birth and international adoption, thrive.

Dr. Cohen has the typical attitude of "I'm a doctor" which means she does not like it when you challenge her. As a parent we are with are children every day for the most part. Dr. Cohen feels as though she owns your child and are on loan to you. With all the controversy with vaccines Dr. Cohen will gladly over vaccinate your child. When you catch her in her own controversy she doesn't like it when you point that out. Instead of considering your comment or possible suggestion she is completely offended. A good doctor listens to the patient of the parent of a minor and considers all information given. Dr. Cohen does not. If you like to be "told" and not have any say in the treatment of your child then Dr. Cohen is perfect for you!!

I don't feel like this pediatrician takes any time to even ask if we have any questions or see how my child is doing as an individual. She is very dismissive of any questions I do ask and tells me I need to give supplements without telling me why. Also tells me it's not an option to do anything other than put my child to sleep alone in her crib and that she should never sleep with me for even a minute. It's her way or the highway here.
