Dr. Vickery took time to listen to my concerns and gave well explained explanations that were easily understood.

I gave it 4 stars because the wait time was short and everyone was polite and pleasant. The doctor does have one drawback -- she likes to talk too much, and I found that she cut me off when I tried to tell her something.

This is our 3rd and last visit to Dr Vickery. Waited an hour and a half and no Doctor even came by - We had to leave and were never seen - they wouldn't refund our co - pay. *so don't pay until after you are finally seen - expect at least 2hours before the doctor sees you = 3 hour doctor visit in total. They actually blame the patients when they can no longer wait. They blamed the patient in front of us that she should arrive 15 minutes prior for paperwork - how did that delay her an extra hour? (literally an empty waiting room. no other patients in front of her)They chastised us to allow for more time next appointment! No respect for severity of illness, patients time or those who take off work.

CLOSED AGAIN WITH NO NOTICE AND NO WAY TO GET MY RECORDS FORWARDED OR PRESCRIPTIONS FILLED, WHICH I NEED GET TODAY !!

Dr. Vickery brings lots of medical experience and checks things out thoroughly, while demonstrating empathy, concern and understanding for her patients. I appreciate her quite a bit.

I have been a patient of Dr. Vickery for about seven years. The office staff has changed considerably. However, Dr. Vickery remains to be an efficient, caring, personable and responsive doctor. She has treated me for various illnesses and never failed to refer me to a qualified specialist for further treatment when necessary. I trust her judgement and takes her time with you as if you are her only patient, never rushed. Unlike many clinics and doctors today, she answers questions and explains things so that it is easily understood. The medical field needs more like her.

when you have to wait almost an hour for basic bloodwork, and routinely wait two hours for a SCHEDULED appointment, this shows an absolute lack of regard or respect for a patient.

I had an apointment at 4:30PM, arrived at the office at 4:00PM, got admited by the nurse around 4:15PM and waited for the doctor until 6:00PM to arrive. By the time I walked out since there was no reason for my time to be spent on this doctors. Her time seems to be mnore valuable to her. The greed of scheduling the appointmets every 15 min, my appointment was last, is more important for this doctor than my time or health. I will never return to this office again.

My wife and I have been with Dr Vickery since she opened her Mill Creek clinic many years ago. Over the years I have seen other people come and go, but her core set of nurses have been there for a long time. One of them, was in the high school band with my daughter.Dr Vickery is animated in her approach to medicine, I have occasionally accused her of having ADHD as she rushed from one topic to another. One time I told her to sit down and speak like a southerner so I had time to absorb what she was saying. She laughed and showed down.As a family doctor, she knows the limits of her abilities and is quick to transport a patient to a specialist as needed. (Many studies show that this is the best course of action for the patient) She has also worked in emergency medicine and gives her time to help out with drug patients and mental cases at the jail in Jasper Georgia. Her clinic covers both emergency and routine patients. If you need to see a doctor, walk into the emergency check in… area and sign in. The wait time is short and true emergency wait time is practically not existent. I have seen the doctor in less than 3 minutes with a real emergency.This speed of emergency service causes routine patients to wait from time to time while the doctor takes care of the emergency. Personally I don't mind the wait when it happens because I know someone is in trouble.The other reason she is late is she expect the patient to actively participate in their care. If you come in with a document from the Internet, she will read it and help you understand then provide her judgement on the document and what it says. She will take the time to discuss food and the right way to eat. If you want to know what she thinks about food, ask what she and her family eats. She does not behave like a vet. like many doctors I have seen. By that I mean she does not look at you the grab a prescription pad make a mark then speed down the hall to the next person. She takes her time and she expects her patients to explain in their own words what they are feeling and thinking. She does not try to read minds and if you tell her you do not want to take a medicine, she will ask why, judge your reply then suggest something else or perhaps nothing at all.Over the years she has had severe problem with her medical computer systems. By my count she is on number 3 and thankfully it seems to be much better.One thing she really has going for her is the fact she knows a lot of great specialists. My wife and I have fired several doctor, but the ones she has recommended have been real keepers.So while Dr Vickers is not a saint in doctors clothing, she is the second best first-line medical person I have found and over the years my wife and I have tried many. (The best is no longer in this area - She moved to the mountains.)As far as waiting for a doctor, I am reminded of my childhood doctor. There were two doctors in town, Dr N. and Dr J. If you went to Dr N. you almost always had to wait. If you went to Dr. J, he would see you immediately. When I asked my mom why she took me to Dr. N, she replied:" I would not take my dog that Dr. J.!" Thus I relearned the fact that patience is still a virtue if you want good service.Do I recommend Dr Vickery - YES, But only to those that need emergency help or are willing to take part in their own treatment. If you only want someone to give you a magic pill so you can continue to live your life as you have always have then she is probably not for you. If you want someone to give you a prescription for pain killers, you need to show up doubled up in pain. Her work in the jail and with people close to her has made her very tight with pail killers or other narcotics.I hope this helps someone find a doctor that matches their need for medical care.

Dr. Vickery is the most compassionate person I've ever met. I've never had a doctor that kept up with my problems after I went to a specialist. She care about the whole person - not just the problem at that moment. There's no one like her. Yes, her staff at times have lacked customer service, but I've seen a significant improvement, AND new staff!
