Dr. Shilpa Renu Kumar, MD

I went to Dr Kumar for primary care after being hospitalized with lyme carditis. Right away I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and the lyme diagnosis was thrown out. I spent a year being treated for severe muscle pains with antidepressants from Dr Kumar. She referred me to psychiatry constantly. I ended up in ER from having convulsions after starting one of the drugs she prescribed, and they did not know what to do so they put me in a psychiatric hospital. Neither Dr Kumar nor the specialists she referred me to could entertain the idea that the lyme was not gone. Instead, I was labelled as a crazy person. I could never get an appointment with the psychiatrist as they were booked, but she wrote that I was "non-compliant" because of this. She wrote that I could work on my disability paperwork, even though she knew I was incapacitated and was in the hospital frequently. (I have since been approved for disability by SS) Then I was told she was not able to determine my disability status. How… is that possible? I wanted to give her a chance to rebuttal against these claims, but she has not responded to me. In short, if I had stayed under her care I would have continued to suffer and potentially die. I wasted over a year trusting my care to this person, and she retaliated against me when I wanted to leave by denying me resources and defacing me on the forms for disability and private health insurance.

She was very thorough, considerate, and nice during my appointment. A very good doctor!

She is great I can hight recommended.

Do not give a good check up, gone to office twice, nothing has been done both times.
