Dr. Shirly H Ramchandani, MD

When I was doing everything I feel comfortable doing What she recommended (weighting food, journaling, exercising 3 times a week, weight training, walking averagely 8k step a day) but not seeing my weight decreasing her first suggestion is to eat less and pushes her meal replacement product to me. Her method is very much the old diet mentality, her recommendation is to eat less meat, eat less carb, eat less sugar, eat less period. Eat her meal replacement instead of real food. Nothing she has said you cannot find on internet in 5 sec research. She did not check my hormon or my gut health. she never even brought it up! I would not recommend.

I am currently seeing Dr Ramchandani at St Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton MA for Weight Management and I must say that she is an excellent Doctor. She listened to me very carefully on my first visit and suggested only a few corrective habits. She focuses on healthy lifestyle changes which can last throughout the life rather than putting me through abrupt diet plans and exercising. She explained to me some basic concepts such as thermogenesis, eating cycle and glycemic index and motivated enough to adapt to a healthier eating routine. It is not very difficult to follow her advice because it is not much of an effort but being watchful of my actions. She asked me to set very realistic goals for exercise rather than an ambitious one. She asks me to send her a weekly report of my actions such as if achieved my exercise goal and if I ate at the right time at night. One more thing, she has promised me to take on a 5K run in 3 months. And I am looking forward to it with my overall improved… health. I have lost 10lbs in first 5 months and I didn’t feel like making an extra effort for it, just eating on right time and meeting my small exercising goal every week.

Dr Ramchandani is an excellent physician, very empathetic and really cares about her patients. Coming from a medical background myself, I can truly say she practices holistic style medicine and evidence backed medicine. Would Highly recommend to family and friends!

Dr. Ramchandani listened to me patiently and was very clear and logical in her approach. Her bedside manner is fantastic! She was very thorough and empathetic. I highly recommend her and would definitely go back and see her again.

Dr. Ramchandani is friendly, listened to my concerns, and asked more than once if I had anything else I wanted to discuss. I tend to "save up" any non-urgent concerns for my annual exam so I don't have to pay an extra co-pay, and she was totally cool about it! She was professional and the appointment ended right on time, but I didn't feel rushed.

She clearly cares a lot about her patients and takes the time to try to get to know them and their concerns.

Dr ramchandani is very caring, courteous, and has very good bedside manners. I would highly recommend to my family members.
